Yup that's the pretext all set up now. Just a matter of time before the full scale invasion commences.
😛🤮😛🤮😛🤮
If the U.S. had the cajones to dronestrike Lukashenko, they might as well go the whole hog and drone strike Putin himself. If you're going to escalate things to that degree, you might as well get your money's worth.
could ukraine make a few dirty bombs from the wreckage of Chernobyl and use these as weapons?
Yeah he's off his head for sure but his mafia buddies will only endure so much financial losses. The more sanctions the more their assets get tied up.
What ? No of course not, there’s nothing in Chernobyl to make any weapons.
probably dronestrike would be too obvious as US, maybe undercover Polish special forces could do it, he is hated in Belarus anyway and would be alot easier target than Putin. Obviously something like this should only be considered only if there is all out attack on Ukraine and before Putin tries to put nuclear weapons in Belarus
there could be radioactive material enough for a few dirty bombs? One of the military experts on here might know
They have enough working reactors as is.
The material is not a problem.
100% they would maul russia, in a conventional war, if germany decided to go full germany combined with france, spain italy ect They wouldnt be able to compete with the economies the tech, of course it would require the gloves to be completely off and show no mercy to the russian population during the invasion but at the end of it all there would be a eu flag over the kremlin.
is it safe to say this is the first hot war between two nuclear capable countries?
Russia will earn it to beat the Ukraine in an all out war if the Ukraine is resolute in defense and digs in and if the general population has the will to endure they are a good leader off being able to give the russians a real bloody nose.
Apparently Ukraine is closing it's airspace to aircraft entering via Russia and Belarus.
This. Putin seems hellbent on reforming the USSR, and willing to roll the WW3 dice to get it done. If the west sanction the big oligarchs enough then Putin will be dealt with by them.
I don’t think Ukraine have the centrifuges? They gave up their nuclear Arsenal which was the third biggest in the world at the time. It sends a bad message to other nations considering such a thing.
It would appear that the Ukrainian air force is about to lose a ground attack aircraft in an aggressive and unprovoked strike against a target in Belarus, judging from these photos taken in Belarus near the Ukrainian border. Belarus does not operate Fencers, but Ukraine does.
Frankly, if they're going to fake these things, I don't see why they don't do it in a secure rear environment.
[Edit. Actually, Russia may still operate the type. If so, another alternative is that a Russian Su-24 on a peaceful training mission may be about to be shot down by a Ukrainian from across the border]
jesus thats fairly grim if true.
Cue footage on tommorows news streams of a Russian aircraft brought down near the border. Russia claiming it was in its own airspace and calling it an act of war.
Ukraine have shut down all of their RBMK reactors. The Chernobyl reactors are all inoperative, the plant is still in the process of being decommissioned but the reactors are shutdown.
Russia are the only ones using the ancient RBMK tech in its plants in Kursk, Leningrad and Smolensk.
Petrol at 2 50, it will be a hard few years.
They previously shot down a Ukrainian drone over a Belarusian base
You know, I had sort of overlooked the fact that we are about to have potentially an extremely destructive war in a country with numerous nuclear reactors currently in operation. Worrying, to say the least.
When was the last time we had a large scale war in a country operating nuclear reactors? I don't think there were any reactors operational during the entirety of the Yugoslav Wars, were there?
absolute scum
And now NOTAMs have been issued to close Kharkiv and Dnipro airports.
These would probably be the two closest major airport to Donetsk.
it might not be a bad shout for Ukraine to hold its own nuke reactors hostage, and threaten to destroy them if they are losing. Worth a shot. If they lose russia lose.
i work with both nationalities. Ukrainian colleague said today that it’s “life as normal” for them in most of the country, just getting on with work and school.
Was speaking to a Russian colleague around the time Putin had his charade the other evening, I wasn’t going to mention the situation but he did and said Putin is crazy, so I’d wonder the level of support from the ordinary Russians, despite the propaganda.
So they claimed. Problem is that the photograph released is of a Russian drone.
I talked to both a Chinese and a Russian colleague today.
The Russian said that Putin's crazy but also that it's 'our' (i.e. the West's) fault for not standing up to him.
The Chinese said that Russia was justifed because they were the only ones who showed China 'respect' at the Winter olympics.
Interesting!
