Hi, has anyone experience of the interview for the Census Enumerator position.
If so, is it a competency based interview and what are the competencies.
Crate before training or ya wouldn't have the stuff needed for training. Should be out to you this week.
Not allowed in to any house. If they need help then yes at the door but no to going in.
Training times vary depending on the supervisor and their enumerators. Certainly can take place in the evening, I'm not sure where you are getting your info from.
What I said was from my experience of doing it.
Oh that's grand thanks, I just presumed we would be going out starting as soon as the training is over!
The Field Supervisor will arrange a date and time to drop it off. Last time I did the enumerator role it was a day or two after training.
Yeah thank you, my supervisor told me that people have commitments during the day time so ours in taking place evenings, starting 4pm on 28th
Yeah thank you, door suits me fine as I wouldn't feel comfortable going in! Not covid related just in general I wouldn't fancy going into strangers houses
Hi folks. Got the position so happy out. Can we claim mileage and at what stage do we put it in?
Hey everyone, just wondering are they still likely to be handing out positions and do you find out if you were unsuccessful? Thanks
You get an allowance based on how spread out your area is, which is supposed to reflect the greater mileage you may have to cover in some areas.
I got accepted for a role too. Wasn't working at the time, but could have something soon. Hope the jobs don't clash. Eeek.
Sounds like you mostly choose your own hours so you might be OK!
IS the training next Monday and Tuesday?
ask your supervisor, it's different for each group
Yeah mine is! 4-8pm Mon and Tues via Zoom but I'm sure it's different for all
Where do you find out this?
Your line manager
So am I right in reading the contract that we get €140 a week up until the end when we get the balance owed?
Yep. It’s considered an advance. And I saw in week 5. Will get 30% of the travel allowance.
Maybe I didn't make it actually. I've no emails, nothing in my census profile stating a start date, and have had no phone calls from them.
Did anyone who got the job get a stylus with the mobile phone?
The Census pens are a stylus when you retract the point.! Genius.!
Is that travel standard for everyone?
And will the €130 start next week?
Think it depends on the area. The rate varies too for the travel allowance.
Not sure when the weekly advance starts though. Assume it will be mentioned in training.
For all those attending training this week.... How / and when exactly were you informed you got the job?? I am quite annoyed that no information was sent as to what the story is??
Is it too late to still be included yet?? please as I had been awaiting a favourable result..... there does not seem to be a whole lot of info on the recruitment cso profile page...no real indication of anything... fairly poor form
TIA
I Sent them a mail at the weekend, got a reply Monday morning. I placed on the panel, but not high enough to be called for this gig. They'll keep me on file for the rest of the year and if another position comes up, and I'm near the top of the remaining list, they will notify me.
Hi All, congrats to those of you who got the job, I did it last time and enjoyed it.
The only advice I can give you, is don't waste your time going out during work hours in the week, be prepared to do shifts from 4 to 8 or such, no one is home, don't go during school pickup, and everyone is home Sunday afternoons.
Our supervisor only ended up doing minimal training, we watched a video and had weekly meetings until we all got too busy. Stay organized, it pays in the end, and don't forget, they are people out there who thinks it's all a conspiracy, sure like everything else.🤭stay sane as people will find a reason to complain. Enjoy the experience though
Do people expect to receive payment from next week?
I got an email saying I was on the panel. Never got called. Anyway its annoying to see the Cencus guy calling round to your door that is the Manager of your local credit union. That's 2 jobs for him and me not working trying toget work.
