Worked a charm when I was in the states. Place was immaculate and homeless people had pocket change.
A 10 cent voucher which can be spent in the local Dunnes Stores is given for each individual can or plastic bottle deposited in the machine.
300 bottles, you are sorted😁
I can get Antigen tests from a pharmacy in Newbridge for €35 when I was quoted €50 in Naas, anybody get a reasonable price locally for an antigen test and cert for travel ?
Would anyone know of a local basketball team for u17 or u18? my son is looking to get started playing it but not sure where the nearest team is. thanks
yeah it was only after I put the money in the machine that I noticed there was a sticker on it saying something about 30 minutes, I forget the exact wording but it gave the impression that you could park for 30 minutes without getting a ticket and also your ticket could be expired for 30 minutes before penalty. That surprised me that they give such a grace period but if its the case then great becasue I only need parking for 10 minutes to pop into a bank on the main street. The parking spot this refers to is those 5 or 6 spaces beside the taxi rank so Im not sure if its across the whole town or not, if anyone knows please post up
Anyone know any new house develpement in or around Naas this year? ( I mean new not the one alreay started)
Thanks
Tbh I've no idea I thought it would be 15 minutes. I've resorted to buying as much as possible online the last few years as I can't be dealing with trying to find parking, trying to find coins for parking, trying to find a machine that works and then working out how long I'll be there.
Anyone know whats the story with parking in Naas, is the first 30 minutes free? I parked in that small row of 5/6 spaces near the taxi rank on the main street last week. Only needed 10 minutes parking to go to a bank but only had a 2 euro coin and no time to get change so threw it in. But then saw a notice on the ticket machine that said they allow 30 minutes before buying a ticket and 30 minutes after the expiry of a ticket. So it seems that I didnt need to pay at all. Is that the case right across the town?
A friend's daughter did TY experience in the candle shop in Toughers and his son got TY experience in Petstop there too. K-Bowl are another that take TY. And remember when someone is in college, retail work can be the perfect weekend job.
For Johnstown Garden Centre, they prefer if you email in a request. They are pretty good taking kids on for transition year. If all else fails, send him down to one of the many charity shops for a week of work experience.
Looking for a full time childminder for a 2yo and a 5yo if anyone knows anybody.
Thanks so much, greatly appreciated. Hadn't even thought of the animal places.
Well, have you thought about Kildare Animal Foundation? They take on work placement for a week as any help they can get is great. You could also try the vets (Moss or Highfield) to do a week.
If he is tech orientated, have you considered one of the bigger mobile phone and computer repair shops? My son has been doing one day a week since September for his placement and he was extremely shy.
Johnstown Garden Centre do take on transition year students as well for placements.
They are a few that we have used. It may also be worth going in with him (if you are not already) to ask about placements. We ended up doing that for all our kids.
Week block. But at this stage even if it was just a day or so it would be ok. He was interested in software engineering but had no luck as no office would take him, people at home covid etc.
So now anything will do. He is shy enough, i thought something were he had to talk and be out of his comfort zone.
He has his last 2 blocks already covered.
Is he doing a week per block, one day a week per term etc. What are his work options. I will then have some suggestions based on what my lads did.
Any advice on TY work experience. Son has walked the length and breath of naas at this stage and can’t get any.
At this stage he will take anything
Siro is the way , any provider, mine is Vodafone
Beachdale caused such conversation points in the 90s as “75k for a house ? In an estate?”
What sort of music?
last time I was in the townhouse nirvana Pearl jam and rage against the Machine were on the play list
Serious battle in the conditions and they stood firm savage stuff.
Yeah have siro with Vodafone for the last 4 or 5 years and it’s rarely given trouble. Consistent speed too.
There is another alternative to Virgin Media in Naas in fibre to the home (FTTH) from SIRO. Enter your address or Eircode into the link below and if available you will be provided with a lot more choices/suppliers, who may offer better deals and options for you.
SIRO – Ireland’s Ultrafast 100% Fibre Broadband, Built on ESB Network
I have the SIRO option from Digiweb here on Dublin Road and it has been reliable and consistent and I am currently working from home. Well worth looking into.
.
Well done to the hurlers. Like most of the games this year with the big ball and small ball, it went to the wire!
Thanks very much for the advice, I will have a look into it.
I have been with Virgin Media and it's various predecessors for many years and has rarely had any interruptions to service. I have been working from home for the majority of the last 15 years. Expensive but worth it for the stability of service.
Cheers yeah found it, looking good so far!

Is the hurling on TV later on? Someone said it's on tg4 but I'm not seeing it?
