I've quickly lost interest in the Polish song, which isn't a good sign! Don't see it as a winner anymore.

At the moment Brooke looks very good on the backdrop of all the other contenders we know.

Croatia: Pleasant but forgettable.

Slovenia: Has a certain charm to it, and the tempo change is interesting, but can't see it getting much votes. LUMA would have been a much better choice.

Norway: Meh, I'm not really a fan (I think the humour is too forced) but it's gonna do very well in the televote. Wouldn't like to see it win though.

Poland: Good studio cut,underwhelming live. Needs some work for it to be a contender.

Malta: The singer has a great voice but the song is almost nonexistent. Nobody is going to be excited about this.

San Marino: Kind of a Billy Idol vibe from this. Might do ok if they polish the live performance up a bit: the singer has a distinctive look but needs a bit more energy.

I think this is a decent choice for Croatia, should make the final easily enough. Not sure about the guy flinging himself all over the stage though.

Really like this! Possibly closing on on my current favourite selected so far 😅 Obviously the costumes give off novelty act vibes, so this won't be scoring highly with many juries, but the televote may be quite favourable. I can see something of a Hatrid Mun Sigra style jury/televote split, with somewhere in the 8th-10th region probable. I think Elsie would've done very well with juries though.

A lot of disappointed fans out there that this beat the heavy favourite Luma. It's not a bad effort but difficult to get too excited about it either. Luma would've been a better choice.. but Slovenia only ranked it 4th!

The heavy favourite won, so no real surprise. Needless to say his will need to be staged a lot better at Eurovision. Should still do very well for Poland, but I no longer get potential winner vibes from this.

Watching the Polish final here and it's a TIGHT one. Daria performed like she was in the final in Turin: very attractive and full of energy woman. Ochman was also fantastic but his staging looked like RTE designed it, including drums that splashed water when hit.

They should just do a duet and go together in May. :P

I agree it'll be a good year for Poland.

UPDATE: Plot twist: Not sure if it's because they were so close in voting but the Top 3 acts Ochman, Daria, and Unmute are singing again and the public will vote on their favourite among them. All the other acts had 3 or 4% of the votes.

Anyway, another big night tonight. National Finals from Norway, Poland, Croatia, Slovenia, Malta and San Marino. If 'River' is indeed picked for Poland then we could possibly have our first contender to win, and almost certainly a shot for Poland to get their best result since their runner-up debut in 1994.

Don't think the juries would have allowed that smut to get anywhere near a win tbh! I think top 5 was it's ceiling. Alina could've gotten top 3 I reckon... but we'll never know now.

Won't be watching any NF's tbh, but the clips appearing on Twitter of San Marino throughout the week have been interesting to say the least!

Alina Pash has withdrawn herself from representing Ukraine, perhaps a case of walking before she was pushed. This is the second time in four years that Ukraine have basically bullied their representative into submission for political reasons. EBU really should take a stand here and serve them a ban, but I imagine they'll look the other way again. Second time that Ukraine have thrown away another probable top 5 finish!

Having listened to what's been chosen so far I think Italy and Czech Republic are my favourites. Lithuania might be a grower. Don't think we've heard a winner yet though.

I really like this one that's in the Slovenian final: it's like a darker version of "Sebi" from a few years ago. Am hoping it could do quite well if it makes it to Turin:
