It's all a waste of public money. The identity of the killer will never be discovered unless - presuming he is still alive - he decides to confess his crime.
"he decides to confess his crime.
A confession, standing alone, may not be enough to convict.
Edited to reword ' is not enough to convict' to 'may not be enough'

Guilty or innocent, Bailey is a sleazy dude
Poetry & sattire combined...
You read too much into things.
Nobody bats an eyelid about this chancer, a convicted fraudster, posting unreleased garda statements on his twitter, apparently.
Has anyone read this book Killing Sophie
https://www.amazon.com/Killing-Sophie-Explosive-Investigation-Plantier-ebook/dp/B09NJF5TT1
Are there any new revelations in this case at all? None, as far as I know.
The problem for Bailey will probably also be that he's the only one still alive, or at least one of the very few. Thus it's also easy to blame on the ones still alive, isn't it if one or the media has a shallow mind?
The horny Guard from Bantry died, Martin Graham died ( ok, he was never a suspect), Alfie Lyons died, Sophie's husband is dead, this musician from Germany, Wolensky or what his name was, committed suicide, Bailey would be the only one left to blame.
The other tread has been closed, for whatever reason?
No new developments know to me. I guess people are waiting on the review case asked for by D Harris recently.
Revelation3: A major story is about to break on the murder of Sophie du Plantier. It concerns a statement recently given to Gardai. I can’t reveal it as it’s not my story but it is good news for those seeking #justiceforsophie. The pressure mounts..
Anyone know what this is about?
I think if the Harris and Guards had anything solid to convict Bailey, they would have used this evidence already.
Was Bailey in trouble with the law ever since Sophie's murder? Drunkenness and disorderly conduct? Violent outbursts towards his the partner? Don't think any of this did happen.
Is that Elio Magliocco (Malocco) the former solicitor and convicted fraudster? It seems he is now a film maker and expert on criminal profiling, a subject on which he has had a number of books published. Has it in for Bailey, believes he's guilty.
s that Elio Magliocco (Malocco) the former solicitor and convicted fraudster?
yes that's him. As an expert on criminal profiling it will be interesting to see what he thinks of Bailey the convicted woman beater.
We're still waiting for Fosters big revelation and promised break in the case so I'm not holding my breath.
So it's just a couple of idiots speaking about the "big revelation"? - in order to make money for themselves. Being or wanting to be in the centre of attention, writing a book, appearing on TV, the usual......
In reality, there is nothing new, I take it, no evidence to tie the murderer to the murder site murder weapon and victim.
Anything new would have to come from Drew Harris and him only, I'd say.
I don't consider him a reputable source of information, but posting latest tweet anyway.
I'd personally much prefer investigations into the Dublin/Monaghan bombings, Miami showband massacre etc.
Although we barely bothered even investigating them at the time, the investigation into the Dublin Monaghan bombings was stopped by the FG government of the time after just two months so what chance do we have now, also our current Garda commissioner used to work for RUC special branch and MI5, the ones believed to be responsible for the bombings.
What`s it all about then Glossy?
No idea. Speculation at the moment. He doesn't mention a source and is a disgraced solicitor but that doesn't mean he doesn't still have connections in the legal world.
I'm more interested in wether the DPP can actually grant immunity in return for a testimony, it's certainly not common practice here.
It is quite a significant development if true. You would basically have a witness that knows who the killer is and is afraid of being prosecuted as an accessory. I don`t see what else it can all mean.
Possibly yes. Could also apply to withholding information that could have furthered the investigation, not necessarily being an accessory in the murder itself.
For the few here that still think the gardai are above reproach and would never meddle in anything including murder, here's a couple of new investigations
1 - Drug running. SIX former gardai have suddenly got selective amnesia on one particular situation. One would be unfortunate, two a travesty, but all SIX suddenly have a condition that affects less than one in 200,000 people. (General amnesia where you forget a large time frame is higher at 4 / 100,000)
https://www.independent.ie/irish-news/six-former-gardai-cannot-remember-drug-operations-at-centre-of-explosive-lawsuit-allegations-41366648.html
2 - Murder in Donegal in 2003. Gardai now seen to have been involved in death of a man and the murder of someone they used to cover up the death
https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/detectives-to-probe-garda-involvement-in-2005-shaun-duffy-murder-case-zs6kjjdgs
So anyone who thinks some rural gardai will not go to the ends of the earth to stitch someone up or even murder someone themselves as alleged in the Donegal case, should read above and the dozens of other cases of garda abuse.
But just as an aside - the vast majority of gardai are decent hardworking people who follow procedure properly. But there are too many bad apples and it will take a few more years to weed most of the bad apples out.
Spot on.
We could also mention the donegal case with the McBrearty family who were terrorised by gardai for years trying to stitch them up for murder when it was a hit and run, one of their own, although they still can't prove it. At least they got hefty compensation, but that's because they could afford a PI to prove it.
Both articles are behind paywalls. What are the odds the stories become less sensational once you get past the headline and leading paragraph and get into the nitty gritty. None of this belongs in this thread.
"So anyone who thinks rural gardai....etc". I`d say there isn`t a single contributor to this thread who thinks that there are no bad eggs within the Gardaí. Don`t know why you bothered with the edit.
Just out of curiosity, I guess there is nothing new in this case? Nothing from Drew Harris?
My guess is that it is just a coincidence that World Book Day (3rd March) happened to be shortly after these spectacular revelations were alluded to and were supposedly going to be made public.
No conflict of interest at all with the authors of books on the subject..., nothing to see here..., 🙄
Still no word on the outcome of the case review sent to Mr Harris. Surely the contents have been considered by now.
Also what ever happened with the big revelations which were predicted, I was expecting an arrest or two and the whole case to be solved by now. 😉
Ah jeez Glossy....don`t tell me you`ve hightailed it out of here yet again. Something must be about to happen.
