Is this the end of Nord Stream 2?
Germans are going to be pissed.
Thankfully Russia are not powerful yes, but Europe is pathetically weak and China will come into the mix soon. Hopefully the west and in particular Europe grow a pair and galvanize after this.
Yes even absent your chart we know Russia is a huge gas producer. Yes, such sanctions are going to hurt EU countries badly, but it's looking like it may have to happen now + not doing it could have a higher cost long term.
What is your suggestion/point here?
Or is it just your usual one-eyed and childish Tory Brexiter gloating about something/anything that will harm the EU + EU member states? This is all a bit bigger than that imo.
You need to get in touch with your countrymen and let them know it's ok to roll out the panzers again
Having courtesy and respect for democracy is not weak.
I am polite with my work colleagues. About once a year, I am forced to become scathing. People are always surprised by my ability to be very firm. You will see the same for Europe.
China has enough domestic issues on its front at the minute. Yes, Russia is their lackey. But geopolitically, China is in a very precarious position. And with or without NATO’s opposition, that won’t change
If he is covering some sort of illness and displaying erratic and increasingly dictatorial behavior then you would imagine that at the very least the Russian military would have concerns of where this is all going to end. If he gives the order for a full invasion of Ukraine what chance of a military coup?
No sign of a statement yet other than this Tweet from him:-
Higher oil and natural gas prices actually benefit the US, fracking is more expensive, I think I remember reading that Russia was keeping gas price low as to make fracking less viable due to the cost involved.
basically if gas and oil price increases Shale gas and oil become more profitable which will drive growth.
wether the US can deliver enough of it to Europe is a different matter.
Would you ever go and take a valium.
You are the one trolling this thread for the past several threads.
You will still be defending them if they invade Ukraine and saying how it is the West’s fault
"As a result of Bolshevik policy, Soviet Ukraine arose, which even today can with good reason be called 'Vladimir Ilyich Lenin's Ukraine'. He is its author and architect. This is fully confirmed by archive documents ... And now grateful descendants have demolished monuments to Lenin in Ukraine. This is what they call decommunisation. Do you want decommunisation? Well, that suits us just fine. But it is unnecessary, as they say, to stop halfway. We are ready to show you what real decommunisation means for Ukraine."

Says it all really.
And for those that might want a little more information on how this was all written down back in the 90's look no further.

The US now joining the EU in imposing those much talked about sanctions according to Sky News.
The sanctions had better be so immense that the economy of Russia is looking at total annihilation. That is about the only thing which will avoid a messy war because E.U., Europe and NATO can't let this one slide.
I think the body language of his security council members was very telling today in this context, in particular the spy chief who was absolutely bricking himself as Putin made a show of him. Most of them seemed fearful.
Attention;
2 x USAF C-130's circling for the last hour just over the border from Lviv for the last hour...
Ukrainian Airspace has ominously cleared of aircraft.
USA should ban all flights from Russia to US, and all Russians from entering into the US, UK should do the same.
Hard for EU to do it with the gas on off switch in Putin's hands
Has he gone mad or what?
The MC130J are usually special forces tankers in support of infiltration or extraction of forces
I told you....although looking at today's performance I think he's well past Tricky Dicky levels.
Not sure why people think the Chinese will want anything to do with delusional Putin. They'll try stay as far away from that as possible.
China biding its time for Tiawan
Ugh. Apparently Putin has ordered a 'peacekeeping' operation in E. Ukraine.
True. Time to get tough send weapons to Ukraine and let Germany rearm.
How bad was Putin’s speech? Do people actually think he’s losing it? Surely not.
An invasion of peacekeepers!
Why don't you go away and compile a spreadsheet of Russia exports and who import them. Then do a case study for where these imports would be sourced alternatively and the increased cost. After that you can give us your report of where exporters to Russia can sell their products. I'm sure bankers, idustrialists, professors, governments will e lining up to hear your next brainfart.
They also need to hit the Oligarchs hard. They'll happily let their own citizens suffer but they won't like losing access to their own non-ruble assets. That's not easy though - a lot of people, western politicians included, benefit from them.
Theyre going into Luhansk and Donetsk. Putin has just announced. "Peacekeeping"
Deranged. And the circus preceding it would have been laughed out of an Austin Powers script for being too ludicrous.
Donetsk is in a state of war preparation for years against the Ukraine armed forces. People who are against Putin and the Russian state are clueless about facts on the ground. The people living there want to be independent of Ukraine and the west simply don’t understand self-determination. Putin only gives want the people living there want Russian recognition. In this climate is a bold move though by Putin. Looks like Putin had enough of the West crap arming Ukraine with Nato weapons on its border. When playing dumb and blind you'll get a reaction.
