Someone here post#37 https://www.boards.ie/discussion/2058183383/booze-deals-nirl-edition#latest posted an old club card picture if you don't care about the points going elsewhere, or just use Addresspal and pay the €6.50 to get 1.
Yes, they have. If you go back a few pages in this thread you will find information on this.
MyBooze reimbursed me for the full value of the charge in the form of a voucher.
The voucher is tied to your account, which is a bit unfortunate, as like me, you'd probably be cagey about using them again. I'll be using a mate's name & address on the next order, don't fancy showing customs a trend.
Interesting to see that while LIDL/ALDI have applied MUP and no more, the other supermarkets have taken the opportunity to take more profits. In Centra tonight, previously would have had a dozen reds at 8e sale price, now has 4 or 5 at 9, a few more at 10 and the rest of the "offers" at 11 - all the same wines that would have been 8e (on rotation) before MUP and all wines that would be no more than 8.30 at MUP. I am going back on the mushrooms.
How much duty and for what IYDMMA? Was gonna do an a order soon.
I noticed tyskie beer is now €2 in Lidl but €2.50 in Tesco- pre mup it was 1.65 in both stores
My order was for €450. All spirits.
Ended up paying €107 C&E.
Lidl
Chianti DOCG Riserva
€7.99
Strange, there should be no customs for low value goods
Ok, order from mybooze was €247, just got letter from customs looking for €233🥺
There isn't, regardless of value, as it's coming from another EU state.
What is due is excise duty.
That sucks! Did they provide a breakdown of how they arrived at that figure? Hardly worth paying.
I think mybooze will stop shipments to Ireland if a higher percentage of them are getting seized
They probably don’t even know some are getting seized if people just pay the duty.
thing is, they come across as very up their own arse and with their shite about customs etc.
fact is, it’s not allowed so customs are right to charge
I ordered from mybooze on Feb 9th and received delivery on Feb 15th. Total order including delivery was €123.
€160 excise and €70 vat.
I know it can be a pain for some to travel but pop over the border and clean up. Use a UK tescos clubcard to avail of offers. Some listed on ni bargains forum. Or use amazon uk click and collect in ni too.
Jameson 700ml Dunnes €22.10 from 16/02/2022 until 27/02/2022

That's the cheapest it can be sold for under MUP
can Perlenbacher cans stil be got in Lidl in the north..anyone know the price..cheers
do you their rum prices by any chance?
Apologies for the question but has anyone used Amazon click and collect for spirits and did it work out?
Thanks
Someone mentioned on here they did & collected in Jonesborough Post Office
Can't add above quote to my post above
How big of an order was it?
What's the current duty free situation like coming from UK -> Ireland. Is there big savings?
Well that looks like the end of mybooze.eu
Up the North now for me. They can stick this mandatory MUP right up their bollix.
24 cans of heineken are 42euro. I'll get near on 45 cans for the in Tesco UK. Have a big car so i'll be stocking up for the long run.
For example Jack Daniels 100cl is £22.
JD 70cl is currently on offer at €22 in Dunnes.
Pretty miserable, when you look at the restrictions on what you can bring in:
16 litres of beer, 4 litres of still wine, 1 litre of spirits or 2 litres of sparkling wine, fortified wine or any alcoholic beverage less than 22% ABV.
So, one-and-a-half trays, 5 bottles of wine, and a bottle of whiskey. Hardly gonna break the bank with all your savings from that mess.
Is that just a suggestion, or is that a law?
As in the way they say you can only bring 800 cigarettes home within the EU but in reality you can bring however many you want.
