Also started the wipers when trying to reverse, and recently looking for the blind spot camera in the dash
Reminds me of this scumbag ex Garda who wanted a 3 phase connected to his house. Despite the whole inside of the house including the mains cable from meter box to fuse board single phase. He was a right prick. I think he is dead now but point of post is he could run a cable from meter box to a 3 phase electric charge point as he has a 3 phase connected from pole to meter box which went to waste till now so current owner of house could use the 3 phase supply.
edit: 3 phase supply went to waste for over 20 years now.
I love when lads talk about 3 phase in their house....the standing charge is over 100 euro per month just for the connection, and installation costs are by the meter could be 10k. Its for hotels and industrial units that need to run heavy machinery. Even then the charging rate on a tesla is only slightly (37%) quicker on 3 phase. Its a total waste of time.
Yep,
Time to charge my car from 0% to 100% on single phase: ~7 hours
Time to charge my car from 0% to 100% on 3 phase: ~4.5 hours
I can't ever envisage a situation where I'd need to charge at home from 0-100% quicker than 5-6 hours...
Lesson learned - if you're getting finance with First Auto Finance, enter Finance Ireland Limited as the lender name. Finance Ireland are the parent company. I used first auto and the system didnt recognise it natively. I was stuck on a pre payment step and couldn't see that I'd been assigned a VIN for the last two weeks.
Updated now and I have a VIN to go off.
I had been wondering about myself. 3 phase obviously doesn’t have any major benefit for a house. Thanks for the good info.
Anyone here got the new M3 RWD yet? Just interested how the new motor compares to the older one.
Nothing as yet on YouTube. (That I can see)
Hope the .5 of a second slower wont be that noticeable, WLTP range is well up on SR+, but as you say will be interesting in real world..
Saw that one, not very scientific..😁
Im picking mine up tomorrow but coming from an old 1.6TDI Golf i don't think ill be able to tell you anything other than its fast :D
If anyone is terribly disappointed by their 6.1s 0-100 time in their new RWD, I'll happily swap with you for my "light speed like" 5.6s 0-100 2020 SR+
(but in reality, I'd happily lose that half second for all the upgrades the 2022 version comes with...)
Insurance was surprisingly difficult to change over, Zurich actually added an indemnity clause for activation / enabling of FSD. Initially the wouldn’t even quote!
Best of luck, looking forward to hearing about hand over etc.
Player 2 seems more stoned than Player 1. I guess the headline differences as shown on the Tesla ordering page are still the reference point.
I've just been on the phone to AIG to switch my car to the Model 3 RWD that I'll pick up on Wednesday morning. The online portal wouldn't quote me, the agent I spoke to had trouble getting anywhere and in the end has told me the underwriters will have to be contacted. Could take up to 48 hours she said which isn't ideal as I pick up the car on Wednesday morning. I went through Liberty's quote engine to see what it might cost if I needed to switch insurers but it told me it wouldn't quote me at all. Nothing else has changed so it can only be the car that is causing these systems to go into "computer said no" mode.
Anyone else having similar issues, or can suggest an insurer that did not have a problem with Tesla?

Here is a video showcasing the new 2022 RWD from someone in scotland.
Aviva seem to quote, for me an extra €30 for remainder of insurance (11 Months). But had to phone up, not available on their on-line.
I had very similar issues. Had to cancel my policy with Zurich as they would not cover the tesla.
Ended up with only 3 insurers who would quote me online. The AA, 123.ie and AXA
In the end I went with the AA fully comp for 780 euro which was more than the previous car but not bad for a 55k car!
Also you get 10% discount with the AA if you have AA membership
I’m with 123.ie and was able to switch to the model 3 using their online portal with no additional charge
Axa insured me over the phone for the 2022 M3 last week, no issues.
Thanks for the info, I can go to the AA if AIG let me down. Funny that Aviva didn't quote though if they were prepared to change the policy for eagerv;
Any chance the AA quote was on behalf of Aviva - the AA is just a broker I think so there must be a company behind the quote.
That is a really good personal review. He says in the comments it actually HAS the double-paned rear view mirror.
It is the RSA Group who are the underwriters but i think they only sell through brokers.
I will confirm this when l collect mine tomorrow but I believe you are right , it’s model y only.
Zurich went to the underwriters in the end and agreed to amend and continue my policy with the FSD clause.
AA gave me a very competitive quote (€450)
123.ie less competitive at €880
But nobody else would quote me online.
I got a quote of €550 (w/ 3 points) for my RWD that I pick up on Thursday through Bank of Ireland (have our home insurance through them and a current account so saved significantly there). They are underwritten by RSA as well, was pleasantly surprised coming from €490 on a 1.5 Renault Kadjar with Liberty.
My first MS had 22kw dual chargers. My current more expensive Model S only has the single 11kw.
Nice difference the 22 made on the trips to lidl etc
Was just chatting to Tesla chat, apparently my car is now in the country and they will be arranging a hand over date very soon. Confirmed has all the latest spec, such as Matrix lights, heat pump, AMD Ryzen etc.
Was a bit worried about selling my ID.3 so quickly last Tuesday, but looks as though I wont be car-less for too long...😊
Hi - any chance you can tell me where Tesla chat is located? I have been assigned a VIN since 7th Feb but just trying to figure a possible delivery date
I found it on the page where you configure a car, at bottom left I think 3 dots which says chat ? It's not always there, only when somebody available.
