Quite likely I will be placing an order for a M3 in the coming days. I don't mind waiting a few months, as I will need to settle into a new job before making the financial commitment anyway. I test drove the Ioniq 5 today and it just wasn't up to the same standard as the M3. Can someone who has been through the online ordering to delivery process summarise the steps.
Does payment fit in there?
Direct to Ireland? That would be a first who told you that? They normally go via Zeebrugge after Southampton and smaller RoRo's to Dublin.
I'd run that by Mr. Miserable on TMC forum shipping thread, unless it came from there?
Aye it's handy alright win, win for all 😉
Mmm, I got similar info last year for September saying it's 3 ships a quarter, let disguard December in that as only 80 cars. But last September 3 ships equated to 160 cars.
March stats will tell a lot on how many cars they deliver this year been fairly consistent last two years up to march (325 in 2021 and 334 in 2020).
Big number (much more that 300 odd) would be a good sign.
But saying that it's strange the delivers jump straight to August now missing Q2 maybe their going to 2 delivery slots a year which might makes sense with 221 and 222 plates.
But what do I know I'm only a big whinger and using facts and data.
Don't forget the ignore button all 😉 .
Slave, tell me this. If someone was to order a M3 LR this week, what’s the most up to date spec now that will arrive in august. Essentially what will the car have over lest say the 2021 LR they have in inventory.
Has that order been built just yet and sitting in china or will it be built and shipped.
They had Q2 delivery slots last week. You could have got one in May but they’ve all been sold.
That doesn't sound too promising supply wise, there was people who ordered start of Jan and got VIN in very short time (couple of weeks).
Then short availability for May and jump straight to August. Of course there is demand but you'd expect a bigger window.
Do we know if latest RWD M3 charges on AC at 11kwh or 7kwh?
I see EUKOR are shipping for Tesla now (Morning Carina and a few sister ships).
Another of the sister ships landed directly in cork last month (Hyundai, Kia) 700 odd cars in one go there just 12 hours
It's a shame Tesla wouldn't do the same for the Irish market, surely logistically cheaper than offloading Zeebrugge and bringing smaller RoRo from there.
Maybe it's to do with logistics in Ireland as the all are delivered from one location, definitely potential to scale up deliveries easily.
Believe all model 3 variants are 7kwh for single phase at ~230v

Yep done it a few days ago.....
11kW on 3 phase supply
I’m in the same boat. Tesla offering really good trade in for my S not sure if I’ll be happy dropping to the RWD (coming from a P).
Double glazed and privacy glass seem to the a Y thing at the moment alright but not sure if I like the Y over the 3 one thing I don’t like is petty, no parcel shelf!
I believe all the 3’s are 11kw. The very first batch were limited to 7kw back in 2019 but seemly upped to 11 in 2020 sometime.
Car has capacity for 11kw if connected to 3 phase charger but will drop to 7kw for 1 phase. So it depends on your domestic charger spec and setup.
would you really want/need the screen swivel?
I don’t think I’ve ever been driving the car and thought I could do with the screen angled towards me….
For any 2 car households here, anyone here keep leaving the other car unlocked because used to the Tesla locking after you walk away with your phone? I think I have done it dozens of times, even leaving keys sitting in the other car overnight from time to time. 🙄
I had a 2019 model 3 P- and sold it in October, was going to buy an SR+ would have been more or less a straight switch money wise to the SR+ but after the test drive I decided I'd miss the few horses so got a black mic model 3 performance, it was only 4k more expensive than a LR when you add the 19 inch wheels, so no brainer really
I just assumed we were talking about the 22kw posts here.
I assume everyone knows they can only get 7kw/32a at home.
The thing about front tints is that’s there’s no legal one available.
Even the ones that say they are NCT legal, when they added to the factory glass, they drop below the level.
Now in a new car you’ll have 4 years to not worry about it 😀
Yes. I’m in my second MS and I still walk away from our 520d forgetting to lock it !!!
Ok that would be super if correct as we have 3 phase zappi
But do you have a 3 phase supply to the location where the charger will go?
if not you should have just got the cheaper 7kW Zappi.
That the MY22 Model Tree or a nissan Leaf? Hope the driver was Oak K,
You still need 3 phase supply.
Reading about it on a uk forum. People saying the frame held up without much deflection.
Makes the interior a pretty safe place to be.
Don’t worry the 3 phase zappi is for work location which is 3 phase so all good
