What's that?!
Born Clothing, based out of the old Burger King store in Eyre Sq SC.
Is this the right thread for this? not sure
Anyway, no mention of the exact number for Galway out of the 200
Not the right thread.
Announcements like this often really mean that the temps/contractors who are already working there will be kept on thanks to some cash from the IDA - so possibly nothing to get excited about.
Lidl on Headford Road (beside Argos) is closed until Thursday for refitting.
Did they give out coupons or anything for affected customers? They normally do
About time, the store was badly in need of a refit, really showing its age lately.
Anyone remember what year it opened?
In and around 2001-2003, I used to pass it on my way home in those days.
I remember, it was 2002/3. The first 'discount' store in Galway, they had all this 'strange' food stuff from the 'continent' and the staples were so cheap, even if it had italian and french instructions. And they had continental chocolate, not the horrid Cadbury stuff. So novel! Locally, they caused Tesco and Dunnes to drop their prices, significantly. And this bizarre set-up where they had different non-groceries specials every week. Memories
Remember how crazy it got for some of those specials? People queuing up hours before it opened and running in to grab whatever the big deal was. It was like our very own Black Friday
Still happens, I was one of them last summer. Insert facepalm here.
The Subway by Western Cellular is closed for renovations.
By the sounds of things, the Penneys extension in the GSC is going to be pretty big. Theres going to be an internal escalator too.
Boston Donuts closed. Last day was yesterday. Opened at a really bad time. Feel very sorry for them.
I remember them selling out nearly every day at the start. Nearly every bakery, service station and supermarket is selling those OTT doughnuts with tons of toppings, they're not really a unique selling point. Maybe the donut hype is also finally coming to an end, just like the cupcake craze a few years ago.
Cronuts and Cruffins are where it's at.
The former Eddie Rockets on Eglinton St is finally being fitted out for something.
Wishbone going into Eddie Rockets on Eglinton Street have a couple of branches in Dublin https://wishbone-wings.com/ looks tasty
Are you telling me there is no longer a Burger King in Galway???
There's a BK on Tuam Rd https://www.whopper.ie/locations/
The Donut fad is dead, long live the chicken wings fad!
In other news anyone notice that a donut shop opened on Francis Street across from the abbey church
That's there for some time now opened last year
Monster Donuts, there a relatively long time. They're on JustEat for anyone wanting to try.
Since June last year according to this: https://www.openingalway.com/2021/07/monster-donuts-woodquay-galway.html
But they announced on Facebook that this is their last week.
No surprise, any time I've passed its never seemed to be open.
If it’s phone or coffee shop I’ll cry
Habit Coffee on Cross St has closed, maybe that'll cheer you up.
What If it's a Licenced premises?
What would you like to see more of in Galway?
Are they closed for good? I thought I saw something about it being temporary but might have imagined it
