It seems Ukraine asked for a trilateral meeting which was refused
No one is denying that, people are simply saying what the Ukrainians are saying that in the last few months the USA have been exaggerating and stirring up the conflict for their own gain. The Ukraine president speculated on some reasons for this such as Nordstream.
But Obama! He's responsible for everything since the fall of the Soviet union. What a corrupt president to be in power for so long!
So are you saying if there's an invasion, it will be Ukrainians invading Donbas?
You forgot to mention Russias trade wars and blakmailing of Ukraine leading to this corruption.
And no Obama had nothing to do with it
So stop reading russian fairytales
What is this gibberish?
Yes or no. Russia has violated the treaty it signed with Ukraine?
Yes and given them russian passports and uniforms
I think you mean twittersphere but whatevs.
You know people are struggling in a discussion when they engage in inflammatory hit and runs and refuse to actually discuss anything of substance, especially when explicitly asked to do so on several occasions.
Are you willing to discuss the Budapest Memorandum and how it has been repeatedly broken?
These clowns putting out videos today that were filmed days ago. Hilarious that anyone falls for this utter nonsense.
They are Ukrainian citizens from the pro Russian Donbas region who want nothing to do with Ukraine and want to be part of Russia, Russia have provided them with support such as helping provide them with weapons.
If you had even a single bit of knowledge about Ukraine, you would know how much of a corrupt gangster state it has been since the fall of the soviet union.
Riddled with organized crime and corruption for several decades now.
And of course this made it so much easier for the Obama administration to meddle in their affairs and destabilize the entire region in the process.
This is why talk of the US cannot be taken off the table here. No matter how much some of you guys desperately wish it could, because they have played a critical role in the giant sh!tshow that we are witnessing today. And they continue to stir the pot every chance they get.
Well we will wait and see if that happens although I very much doubt it just like the so called imminent invasion of the entirety of Ukraine that has failed to materialise.
Although I am happy to see that US propaganda is starting to wear thin and people on are finally coming around and realising there is no chance of an a full scale invasion of Ukraine and people are starting to focus on more realistic possibilities like an invasion of pro Russian territory like Donbas.
Russian seperatists are russian soldiers with no insignia,in case you missed it.
Controlled by Kremlin
You know what a Russian separatist is right? Russian separatists have not surrounded Ukraine. I'm talking about the Ukrainian Russian separatists who live in Donbas.
Yes latest figures says 190000,but thats irrelevant, the point is that these troops are placed strategically around Ukraine to surround them.
The reason why Russians are being evacuated is quite simple,Russia can start shelling with artillery and air strikes and dont harm any Russians.
They can level Donbas and Ukraine as they did with Chechnya
Amazing geopolitical play by America to have Russia score several own goals, back themselves into a corner to find themselves fighting against NATO encroachment.
It's 190,000 now? There were around 100,000 troops on the border in spring last year and multiple years before that, the only difference this time is US intelligence claiming they are going to launch a full scale invasion against the whole of Ukraine.
There might be the possibility of Russia invading Donbas if the fears of the people of Donbas are proven to be true and Ukraine are going to launch a full scale attack against Donbas, although personally I don't think that's going to happen so I still stand by my point that I don't think the Russians are going to invade Donbas unless the situation deteriorates rapidly and I'm certain they're not going to launch a full scale invasion against Ukraine.
Lets hope it doesnt come to this
Anyone who has been following the conflict since Maidan has a fairly good grasp at what is happening, considering we've seen it all before. Some might only be tuning in now, but the disinformation campaign and ratcheting up of the tensions is nothing new - albeit the stakes are much higher now.
I'm not denying Russia has valid security concerns. They absolutely do, and the Minsk triumvirate are also partially responsible for where we are today given the derailing of the Minsk Protocol and the failure to keep it on track - and the overall lack of commitment to resolving the conflict in Ukraine and addressing Russia's security concerns.
However let's not be naive here. Russia is creating a causa belli. If you think otherwise you are only deluding yourself.
But America did this !!!
I see you've consistently igorned my offerings of an actual discussion on the Budapest Memorandum.
Amazing. I guess Yanukovych was run out of Ukraine for standing up to Russian aggression.
I got a warning already from this thread and the mod said they aren't proactively monitoring, so I doubt it's going away soon....
Boards is run on ads, so a bit of controversy means €€€.
Who have surrounded Ukraine with 190000 troops and equipment i wonder
All out war in the Donbas region.... Pro-Russian separatist leaders in eastern Ukraine ordered the mass evacuation of women, children and elderly civilians to Russia on Friday, alleging that Ukraine was preparing a military offensive.
So something is happening
Why should Russia make any concessions?
Hmmm let's see...
1) they put themselves in this position through catastrophic strategic and diplomatic miscalculation.
2) they enter this most recent phase of the conflict with out any credibility or good faith. They are, after all, the only ones to carry out an illegal act of aggression and annexation within this particular topic. And they also foment rebellion and carry out illegal acts of sedition and annexation in South Ossetia, Abkhazia and Tranistria.
3) An economic blockade and isolation of Russia by the bulk of the World would cause far more damage to them that it would to those to whom they supply energy and raw material. We can take the disruption with some pain, but it would destroy them and cause mass civil disobedience.
4) Russia's demands on handcuffing the sovereign decision making power of an independent Republic are laughable and outrageous.
5) Might is always right. And despite what he may feel, Putin doesn't have any, its just a tantrum.
Russia is the 11th largest economy in the World, yet 8 of the top 10 economies are lined up to crush them if their hands are forced (excluding the wider EU, which is by far the largest all on its own). So when it comes to concessions, Russia really doesn't have a choice and its only in this position because of its own stupidity.
Even the American public (on both sides of the political spectrum) are becoming highly skeptical of their own government intelligence claims.
Why the hell should the rest of us be any more convinced?
Russia 1 TV have been beating the war drum a while now.... the problem is, people are lazy and won't go to the hassle of getting some of it translated...
The stories being run on western media are childrens stories compared to some of the garbage on this... but yet "Russia want peace"
Well technically he's Ukrainian unless you recognise the self declared Donbas Republic, although he might be ethnically Russian.
