New regulations new season....
Can redbull keep up the pace
Sky and BBC are pathetic with their F1 coverage lately.
Benson in particular, has mentioned Masi or Hamilton in every car launch article so far. He is probably rubbing his head with grease now that Masi is gone. Slater is no better, he would be better off working for a gossip station.
Should they not report it?
It's a pretty big story.
Report it yes
But i got 3 alerts yesterday from the sky sports app to stories and it was in all 3. Even their social media has the story multiple times on it yesterday they never once ran a video blog criticising Toto for his SC message in Abu Dhabi
They are taking great joy out of it and along with Merc are doing their level best to diminish the title Max won.
I really truly hope Merc end up in midfield this season.
Not sure about the overalls, they kind of look like local garage mechanics.
I think the anti-Max angle is overdone. I haven't seen any media try to diminish Max's title. I think it's a case of being too sensitive.
Reporting on the Masi decision and the changes to recent control, isn't the same as diminishing Max's title victory.
During the season, there were plenty of people who wanted to put and asterisk beside the title victor because of one reason or another (sprint races, covid disruption) but nobody is putting an asterisk beside a season won under such unlikely circumstances in the final race? If Max were cruising to victory and the same circumstances led to Hamilton winning, I suspect the asterisks would be being employed.
Mercedes car launch is live now
Back to silver. I doubt this is anywhere near the car that will be seen next week...
Looks very vanilla compared to the Ferrari. It'll be on track later today for a shakedown.
New cars look much better when you see them on track. Williams looks great as does the Ferrari
Not a fan of the silver, much prefer the black mercs...
Same but I think they were always going to go back to the silver.
West McLaren Mercedes was always a lovely combination of both.
Am I right in saying that it looks like Merc and McLaren have a higher front wing than the rest? Im loving the differences we’re seeing in the cars so far, much more variation than I expected
That photo really highlights how ridiculously long the back of the cars have become. Compare the area where the driver is compared to what's behind him.
Mercedes looks good.
Gary Anderson not impressed with the Ferrari. He reckons it looks like 2 cars joined together and the front and back aren't working together. We'll just have to wait and see.
The car on the Mercedes Instagram account looks a bit different to the one in the studio.
He'll be doing F1 on his off weekends from WEC (haven't heard about his ELMS role, but he'll probably drop that). 20 cars/drivers for 90 min should be easier for him to look after than 40 cars/80+ drivers for 6-8 hours (or close to 200 drivers over the 24hrs of Le Mans!). He's very popular, and every WEC fan knows his voice from his counting in session starts/SCs/FCY etc.
I hope he's as strict on track limits and driving standards as his is in WEC. I wonder though will he make the teams use Discord for communicating with Race Control?
W13 on track
To my very untrained eye the Merc looks way more developed than anything else we've seen. The Ferrari is eh, counter-intuitive.
This looks really plain jane. The livery is dire too but if it works on track than so be it. I was expecting something...better?
Same as above. Not sure I follow or agree.
This Ferrari ticks all the boxes for me. Just look at it.
The size of the cars since the introduction of the hybrid formula is comical
Very similar to their Formula E car...
Best looking car although I like the McLaren livery as well
Actually think McLaren looks dreadful. Like a Formula E livery.
RB gone with a pullrod suspension it seems.
