Is the Porsche one definitely only for their own cars? There was no mention of that when I was there in December and it's listed on the Shell app as a general purpose charge point. It also didn't work and one of the staff was quick to come out and tell me that it didn't work for other cars because of a technical problem. I'm not sure he was telling the truth though, I got the impression it was turned off as soon as I started charging.
Speaking of recognizing cars on the road. As people started driving again I see so many EVs on my drives. It used to be Id4/3s last year but Ioniq5s and MGs are also plenty. Then model3s all the colours. Once I drove on M50 in a red/white/blue line of M3s then. I saw the unicorn which is the 211 ModelX (just one registered). I think on the school run we see between 5-10 EVs easily
I don't know. In Belfast there is a shortage of chargers so it may be public relations until they get busier
There's definitely been a big uptake around Dublin, I wonder if it's the same in other cities.
I guess it's easier to make the jump in an urban environment with the shorter distances, although I still reckon an ID.4 77kWh would work for about 98% of daily driving
Lot of EV taxis popping up, seems to be a mix of MG, E-Niro and ID.4
The Leafs are still going strong as well, I'm guessing the 0% finance is helping to keep sales up
Saw a Model 3 taxi charging recently. Honestly, it looked a bit ridiculous with a huge roof sign.
I’ve seen quite a few Model 3 taxi’s, and I think they look fairly cool….
the aul taxi sign could to with an aerodynamic re-design though….

Interesting that they call it Porsche Destination charging, not many people would refer to a 800V charger as being for a destination.

Not far than last week when JET in the UK broke the record for its longest energy generating pulse, news outlets were reporting 59 MJ of power in 5 seconds. They've corrected since although some didn't get it right yet.

Good to see more competition here regardless.
If there was an Ionity hub along my route to Waterford (closer to Waterford though... Kill too close to home), I'd happily pay their premium safe in the knowledge there's a much higher chance of both availability & reliability. Same with this crowd if they put in a few hubs here. I'll happily pay a premium price for a premium service.
The AppleGreen on the M9 at Junction 7 would be an ideal spot for a little 4 car hub...

Did that, and it’s worked out quite well as 99.97% of my charging is done with said charger.

Grid charges here can't be much worse than UK. And they're apparently higher in NI so if Instavolt are thinking of expanding there then it's a good sign
I say it's all good, more competition is a plus and it's a sign that the EV charging market here is starting to look attractive enough to pull in some other networks
Has the mad guy in Waterford taken out the rapid DC triple unit from the back of the garage. Or is it being upgraded. The original unit appeared to be gone today when I was passing by.
