Are we really that desperate for people to prop up the pension pyramid scheme?
This might cheer up some of the more extreme bigots
So you don't assume they will all live off the state? And then you go on to say why they will live off the state🙄
Perhaps they are working for pittance because they are illegal and don't have any choice? Once legal, a lot more employment will open up for them.
Would you think that everybody who disagrees with you is an extreme bigot?
Point to where I said all of them will live off the state.
Are you saying none of them will live off the state?
They are working for pittance because they are breaking the law of this country and being exploited by businesses who should also be charged for exploitation.
Likewise a lot of employment they currently have will be gone because the businesses exploiting them won't give them minimum wage.
Point out to me how this is good news for tax paying irish citizens including those who moved from abroad and followed the rules to get citizenship.
We are too welcoming and generous, needs to stop
You rarely have a post without the word bigot or racist in it?
Yet you previously declared yourself one of the intelligent people who has a greater understanding than everyone else. Delusional
What a silly assumption to make
The willingness to attack the poster rather than the post would indicate that I am not far wrong
Why do you think?
It was a question, not an assumption. Do you believe that everybody who disagrees with you on illegal immigration is an extreme bigot?
this shows both a lack of respect for ourselves and towards those people who apply for work visas through the proper channels
There’s no war in Pakistan that I know of. We’ve plenty of doctors, nurses and students who visit Ireland and return no problem.
Precisely…
you broke the law you get rewarded.
you follow the correct procedure, the country, eu and bogie law breaking illegals give you the middle finger.
there is zero benefit to Ireland or the Irish public l
Whats the point in ever having a deportation order if every time a decision is made the local do gooders mount a campaign to get it overturned and the system itself allows them to go to The High Court and taxpayers here foot the bill.
And now we have an incompetent Justice Minister who is seems reluctant to deport anyone out of our country.
a bit of schadenfreude here, they tried every trick in the book to not be deported, claiming asylum falsely etc, court appeals, studying BS in DCU they cannot now apply for the amnesty. good enough for them.
"due to a technical issue whereby more than three years must pass since the deportation order, which is about a year away"
So they can't apply for the scheme because they haven't refused to leave the country after being asked to/refused asulym for long enough?
Jesus Christ, this scheme is the gift that keeps giving.
The article pretty much validates what many on here have said about the media approach to immigration here. Its not a technicality, its the eligibility rules as written. Taking resources away from genuine asulym seekers for six years.
An amnesty wouldn’t be a one off and it will encourage more people to go the illegal route as it will have worked for others.
a year after the first one every poxy NGO and the extreme left… “ ok, another, we need another “…
Better restaurant and takeaway options... More doctors... or something!
It's absolutely ridiculous that McEntee and co are enabling this without a mandate or support from the general public. We have more than enough problems that aren't being dealt with, and McEntee thinks we should add to those for "de feelz". The most outrageous thing is that she will likely be rewarded for this nonsense while the rest of us deal with the fallout. It's already started.
Really? You label people "extreme bigots" and then have the neck to talk about attacking the post, not the poster?
Seriously?!
It’s always comes back to the food. It must be the most tedious trope rolled out whenever immigration is discussed.
As for McEntee, I’ve made this point several times, but she truly is the most low caliber, vacuous public representative ever to ascend to that position. She’s the person who has been promoted beyond her ability at work and sits in every meeting with a gormless, vacant look on her face. It’s pretty obvious that Varadkar and Simon (yes, I am a disciple of Peter Sutherland) Coveney are pilling her strings behind the scene.
Well done on proving my point
It was a silly, loaded question, which does not deserve a response
Spot on. We can trace it back to Enda Kenny really.
Gifted a majority, an electoral mandate, and once-in-a-lifetime chance to actually CHANGE the business of politics in this country, he squandered it for his lot's turn at the trough, and then made it worse by further diluting the make-up of the Dail and Government following years of scandal after scandal so he could be the only FG Taoiseach to "get" a consecutive term.
That gave us 'bring them all home' Zappone, and ultimately the weak, ineffective/paralysed Varadkar Government which succeeded in making FF electable again, but as they weren't ready we ended up with Micheal Martin at the helm at a time when clear decisive leadership was the most needed it's been in decades!
This is why I say that FG are actually WORSE than FF - we just haven't seen it as much because they have historically not been in Government much, and then only until they make FF electable again (as happened again!)
I fully expect that Helen will be Taoiseach yet and much will again be made of how far we've come (as it was when Leo took office), but very shortly thereafter we'll realise that there's a lot more to effective Governance and leadership than Twitter likes and trends!
Of course, by that stage it'll be far too late and just as we saw an exodus from the worst estates in the 90s as people who could got out, we'll see the demographic and social order consequences on a national scale. It's already started in certain parts of Dublin and north Leinster, but you can be sure that it'll not stay confined to that and the Gardai (for all their faults) will not only be ill-equipped to deal with it, they'll be politically hamstrung for fear of appearing "racist".
The future... coming soon to an Ireland near you!
That about it?
Ah the Simpsons hasn't been funny in decades. Here's a more recent one that probably will sum up your position in the not too distant future though...
It was a perfectly legitimate question. Your non-response speaks volumes.
Trotting out that ancient meme. It’s about as incisive as the food and takeaways trope.
Yawn.
It goes all the way to 11
Didn't you just blanket attack calling people bigots. Add something constructive, how about you debate rather than throw the bigot and racism cards around randomly
Where?
He doesn’t have an argument. That’s all he knows when his worldview is challenged. The only ‘extreme’ view posited on this thread is the suggestion that illegal immigration is not just desirable, but should be encouraged.
Even the most naive student union hack is unlikely to descend to that level of debate. That’s the caliber of argument on offer. Best ignored.
That ia the level of student union debate. Their whole schtik is accusing opponents of iscms, claiming to be antifascist but calling for authority to ban and punish thought they don,t agree with while whinging about their mental health being affected.
