Okay. I read one recent article in Irish Times (rather than Irish Independent).
What was wrong with the article/inaccurate/distorted?
What was so awful (apart from fact he's obviously politicially active and holds view you don't agree at all with given your posts [possibly real issue] + appears deeply embedded into society there)?
What does this chart reference?
This is the human noodle nourished on a diet of Brexiteer & Tory party propaganda pap.
Where you go so far down a rabidly anti-EU rabbit hole you become hopeful to see disasters and human misery unfold, rest of Europe go up in smoke, and Putin score a massive victory all from what you believe is a splendidly isolated perch over in Brexit Britain. Just so you can say, told you so! (or something like that!).
I did. Read the articles. I will provide more links later. There is many.
The abortions figure is insane! That figure alone should set off the red flags big time
I just wanted to hear how our Boards response compares to the responses he gets on Reddit or YouTube.
I didn’t think that he would respond. I was grateful that he did.
But I fundamentally disagreed with the sentiments of the answer
The big "smear" earlier was something to do with him hoping Ukraine would join the EU some day. If so Very Scary Stuff. Nasty militaristic EU. If Ukraine joins all its Divisions will be ready to march on Moscow when the Commission gives the go-order and throw out Poor Defenseless Putin!
Could you back up some of it up rather than making all these mysterious (some might even say defamatory) posts?
@jolivmmx thanked his post though, because I appreciated the effort to give an honest answer.
Welcome to a free and open society ,if you posted that in Russia you would be disappeared or accidentally committ suicide by being thrown off a balcony by a pair of fsb agents
NATO had gross concerns about the direction of Russia’s democracy in the early 2000s. But how wrong NATO were….
They Wayne’s world reference would have been great!
The thing that makes me marvel most about Orwell is the level of his prescient that he possessed even before the internet was a thing. I wonder what he would make of the world post-internet
I debated inserting a picture of Wayne and Garth in that post with 'NOT' but decided against it as I felt it would age me and I feel aged enough already today :D
Orwell, was great. A visionary. But had such a harsh view of life.. nasty brutish and short* to which I would add ugly. Hated pacifists. Loved a fight. A drama queen.
*Not an uncommon view in Russia either, I'm told.
@brickster69 If he invades 5 million people will flee to Europe because they have Visas to travel anywhere. It will make the immigation crisis look like nothing in comparison.
Putin will get all that he demands and more.
Not working so far for him ...
I thanked his post though, because I appreciated the effort to give an honest answer.
Love the picture!
See, the reason that I know that Ireland is an enlightened society is that we can freely gather and discuss internal politics. I mean, if I posted saying that Ireland is a shitbag, I would probably get a couple of 100 thanks. We are lucky that we can apply our deliberative reasoning and understanding.
It's an arms trading club so he probably wanted the business for Russian arms manufacturing.
I don't know, you do know the allegation is that the west enticed Gorbachev with Russia becoming a NATO member, and then later welched on that. It's part of the Russian grievance with the west.
Totally correct, Germany has taken over the EU without a shot being fired. Without them the whole ponzi scheme collapses.
NATO is dead now totally fractured beyond repair.
EU army is dead before it started. Seven neutral members and the eastern European states are talking about making it's own military alliances.
Sanctions will amount to nothing because no one want's any economic harm just now.
If sanctions are applied Putin will turn the taps off and shut it's airspace - Game over !
If he invades 5 million people will flee to Europe because they have Visas to travel anywhere. It will make the immigation crisis look like nothing in comparison.
I observed that posters that attempt to personalize the debate, are also triggered by certain words and inevitably revert to name-calling.
They are the ones whose minds are most colonized by propaganda, they simply cannot handle that another person would hold and view events through a different lens.
If NATO was so adversarial with Russia, why did Putin make several references to joining NATO in the early 2000s?
I am actually being serious here. Do you debate on other forums? How does Boards compare in terms of the quality of debate you receive?
Vs your fake claims
I don’t know Correct Horse, bungalow or no bungalow, it is still a large drop from the window ledge to the ground 😂
I don't know if anybody has posited that question before. Only NATO could answer. Perhaps the collapse of the USSR occurred more suddenly than any of them expected. Perhaps they didn't want to put boots on the ground because it would aggravate things and galvanize the people against an identifiable foreign enemy?
It's really just another of your hypothetical nonsense scenarios.
If we are the pool of talent, then Ireland is really doomed 😂
All jokes aside, to quote the great George Orwell “The most effective way to destroy people is to deny and obliterate their own understanding of their history.” Never underestimate the power of carefully orchestrated propaganda
It never fails to amaze me the mental gymnastics you do in this thread about Russia.
Insert US /UK action, throw in Abit of whataboutery and hey presto justification for Russia's actions against Ukraine.
Bravo comrade bravo 👏
Not once have you condemned russias actions, I bit ironic for someone as concerned about human rights and innocent people.
Or are the Ukrainians not the right type of innocent people for your agenda?
I'd say the Dept. of Foreign Affairs, the FSB, 007 and the CIA are all over this thread looking for talent.
You don't even believe that load of nonsense yourself you no fine we'll they took over the Crimea and spun it.. As for the vote we both what thats worth especially when it comes to Russia.
Sorry friend. I already corrected myself at 5:13pm. Keep up with the conversation.
How awkward! 😱
(despite being previously criticised by Putin) is there ideological basis
Improper use of the word their.
Maybe you should read up on the differences between their, they're and there.
I feel sorry. He is some poor gobshite, paid to copy and paste his ideas onto some Irish forum. None of his arguments are original. They all very much follow the ideology of the Russians. The Kosovo-Independence Precedent (despite being previously criticised by Putin) is their ideological basis for proceeding with Crimea and Ukraine.
I am not sure. But he's an Irish millionaire who was getting funds to organise group's to protest during the euromaiden.
He has lots of shady businesses that are set up to receive funds from donor's.
For some reason the independent.ie and others keep interviewing him as just a worried Irish man living in Kiev, He is anything but.
They are either supporting him financially or he is making contact with them to offer stories about Ukraine/Russia. They must know he is not impartial if he's anti-Russian. Just Google his articles.
Something is very fishy about him.
