Irish stock (ComputerShare cert), which online platform I can sell it on?

Hi,

I'm not a trader, so excuse my ignorance.

I have some shares that were awarded to me as a bonus and I hold a paper ComputerShare cert. I'm looking to sell these, what is the best way?

Seems like the brick and mortar Irish brokers would charge and arm and leg for it so I'm in the process of opening a Degiro account, but gosh they are taking their time and the customer service is useless.

What would be your second choice? Should I try IG next?

Still at it...I opened online accounts with both IG and Degiro. IG will not take Irish shares in, saying they're UK based company and they're mostly allow you to trade with leverage. Degiro will take them in, but the waiting times are in months at the moment.

So in the end I've opened an account with Canton Fitzgerald. They've promised to waive the annual account maintenance fee and will charge for the transaction as per the rate card - 1.5%.

Now I'm in the process of transferring the shares out of ComputerShare to Canton.

I spoke with Cantor over the phone and was advised of a charge of 1.5%. Looking online subsequently I learned of their annual account maintenance charge of 0.75% or a min of €300. I followed up by email and asked would I have to pay that as I'm only wanting to sell this holding.. They said I would.. So going to look elsewhere..

They seem to charge a quarterly fee of €50 for the Davy Select Personal Inv Account (Execution only) and the comm rate is 0.49%

If they're registered with Computershare online - you should simply be able to dispose of them there - possibly fiddly, but certainly doesn't involve significant account maintenance fees etc :)

ComputerShare doesn't offer that service to Irish customers.
