Nobody watching Iran in all of this.
They are pissed off with the pressure from America.
This could escalate rapidly.
I'm quite aware of that.
Careful you don't cut your own throat with the sharpness of your sarcasm.
Japan and the US are Allies ,
Do people honestly not know the basics
All sides have been at that for decades.
Meanwhile, some 7,500km (4,660 miles) away on Russia's eastern side, the Russian defence ministry says it spotted a US Navy submarine inside its territorial waters. Officials say the US submarine was near the Kuril Islands and failed to surface when instructed.
The Marshal Shaposhnikov destroyer took unspecified "appropriate" actions and the US submarine left the area, the ministry said. A US defence official has been summoned by Moscow over the incident. The Pentagon has not commented on the Russian report of the incident.
The above is included in an article that can be read on the BBC News website, posted 2 hours ago.
What is a US submarine doing so close to China, Japan and Russia? It has to be "listening".
I'd imagine if they do go that far the aim is to topple the government or force them into a new constitution that gives the pro russian groups a veto over foreign policy. I feel sorry for the Ukrainians stuck in this situation.
East of the Dneiper is half ethnic Russian or Russian culture.
West is not, they would be mad to stay cross the Dneiper.
Not directly. I'd say it will be more like a North Vietnam situation. Funnelling weapons and supplies to resistance groups through 3rd countries which Russia will not risk bombing of going after.
And many aren't even military bases ,some are housing, some are warehouses and others are offices ,if it's controlled by the DOD it's considered a base but base doesn't necessarily mean a fully functional military base
That picture is a load of BS, those US Bases are there at the invite of the host Nations.
From what I understand they lack decent anti aircraft weaponry though.
The Ukrainians are already armed to the teeth and then some ,arms are flowing into ukraine from all over including neighbors and turkey,
The biggest issue ukraine had when Yanukovych was elected he put Russians in charge of the Ukrainian military who then degraded the Ukrainian military capabilities and set about fleecing them ,and when the Russians came in they used the Ukrainian defense budget to fund separatists
I'm still wondering if it will be a more limited show of force by Russia accompanied by a direct annexation of Donetsk and Luhansk.
Across the border from Poland or Romania I'd imagine. I just don't see the appetite to fight a war against Russia directly though. Honestly I feel a bit grim speculating about it.
How would they arm them ? The Russians would surly try to cut off that supply which would be an attack on the US… so war..
also the fact that the US would arm the, would implicate them as ally’s so they are involved.
I see lots of ways it could escalate terribly but I just can't see the US risking a shooting war to stop the Russians. I'd imagine they would hope the Russians would bog down and they could arm the Ukrainians to the teeth then.
No they don't ,
Especially when they have already warned former Soviet occupied states that they have "Unfinished Business"
I actually do, from what Biden has said… “US and allies will 'US and allies will 'respond decisively' if Russia invades
that doesn’t suggest sanctions, tougher diplomacy or a travel ban really.
interesting that both leaders had a phone call that lasted well over an hour today, so that suggests it was more serious outreaching then token diplomatic efforts for the medias benefit…
if it happens it’s war…
“US and allies will 'US and allies will 'respond decisively' if Russia invades”
But which country would risk being stuck in a shooting war with Russia?
Bullys never stop.
Plenty of states will be directly at risk if Russia takes ukraine ,they won't stop at ukraine
What makes you think there will be more nations in play than just Russia and Ukraine if an invasion happens?
Nice video👍
But Belarus is a Russian client state at this stage. It is hard to see any NATO state getting involved without US approval and support. I don't think any NATO state would want to risk it alone.
^^ which means we are an interconnected global world and economy. War never makes sense. Stupid bravado gets people killed and stops the good things :/
For example:
Sorry now, I know you mean well but the worst video I ever watched was From the Chechen war. 5 conscripts were beheaded one by one, all while looking on helpless, no more then 18. So thats not true.
Sadly I'd imagine this will be much like how it will play out if a full-scale invasion happens. There would be massive use of special forces by Russia too to cause chaos in Ukraine. Without a superpower ally it is hard to see how Ukraine can hold out. I'm not sure that Russia can easily force capitulation though. I assume the Ukrainian government would withdraw from Kiev to Lviv maybe.
Sweden have countered the Russian claims about super s400 long time ago
