Look through history, there's been crimes by many a nation , even seemingly weak innocent States like Belgium and the Netherlands now. Empires across the world built on the back of genocides. Yet there continues to be modern crimes by states and it must be opposed, prevented and called out. If we are to play your deflection card then very few nations on earth with any pull and power can try prevent or hold other nations to account for their crimes because x, y, z done a,b and c. I think most opponents of Russian imperialism in Ukraine and Georgia are also opposed the Saudi Arabia's cruelty in Yemen and the US involvement in Iraq. Constantly posting about other conflicts in a thread about a potential escalation in the war in Ukraine seems like deflection or an attempt to derail genuine discussion.
It is perfectly acceptable nay necessary to point to the rank hypocrisy of Western Imperialism and their faux concern for Ukraine. Remember the US couldn't give a crap about democracy or sovereignty as they regularly undermine both where they think their economic interests may be threatened.

Khattab was one of the most feared Mujhadeen, fought in Afghanistan, Bosnia Chechnya.
His dad was killed by former CIA trained Mujhadeen so having him on board was a smart move by Russia. He will be loyal and strong, what they needed in the Majority Muslim area of Russia.

Why go back as far as 1945? The bombing of women and children in Yemen by NATO (good guys) supplied munitions gets so little coverage by our superior, balanced, free and impartial media it’s effectively a news blackout.
It's quite depressing reading this thread. It is hard to know whether some people are just contrarians or so warped by anti-american thinking that they support every dictator that doesn't like America currently. I wonder if the worst happens and an invasion happens will they all go silent or will they swap from saying it is never going to happen to blaming America for Russia invading?
