Der Speigel reporting that the Pentagon has intelligence of a detailed invasion plan which will begin on Wednesday 16th and includes aeriel bombardment of Kiev. I thought this would be just a border war and land grab but could Putin be going for a full take over of Ukraine?
Der Spiegel lol
ABSTRACT
The case discusses the strategy of DER SPIEGEL, the leading news magazine in Germany, in the aftermath of the discovery of a fake reporting scandal. It had come to light that one of DER SPIEGEL’s own reporters had falsified and made up entire articles for years, despite DER SPIEGEL’s large fact-checking departments.
I'm not..... Fully... Convinced.... You know how surrogacy works.
The US has warned Russia in the Biden/Putin phone call just finished that the former is prepared for all scenarios.
Can't copy and paste atm. Readout is online.
It's more than likely more about punishing the Ukrainians who don't want to be part of Russia, they'll bomb ukraine back to the Stoneage ,so the country collapses, and send a message to other countries we've unfinished business,
As previously stated by putin
Sure isis were selling to anyone and everyone when they controlled the oil fields, even to Assad. But isis are long gone now, and the oil fields are controlled mainly by the Yazidi's. And of course, they sell,,, they kicked out isis, and they need the money.
Sure I do. Pay someone from a poor country cash to have a baby for you.
" the world a much much poorer and dangerous " You are speaking about Russia, under Putin Drook right ?? Well you are 100% right there. A country where for every 1'000 birth's, there are 495 abortions, ( Russian Govt figures ) not mention the death rate amongst men and women from alcoholism and drugs..that's some society all right, where people have lost hope. Not too many queuing up at the borders either, is there? Now take the much aligned US, thousands and thousands trying to get in every year. Now in itself that speaks volumes.
For those posters it's just a simple case of anyone but America ,
Russia occupation of parts ukraine it's Americas and nato's fault,
Russia surrounding ukraine , it's Bidens fault /Nato,
Russia threatening other countries it's Americas /NATOs fault ....
Idiots with an Anti America agenda ,
I'm pretty sure of putin rolled across the border tonight , they would pop in the morning with another excuse what about America in Iraq the usual drivel
Gonna go out on a limb and assume that one of the KGBs best misinformation agents, Putin, has "leaked" several different plans.
No risk of Ireland losing anyone abroad protecting the free world you are able to live in, that's for sure.
Charming.
Any soldier in a war is fair game..no sympathy. They are paid, its what they chose as a career.
@Danzy
These are not inherently stable but I think that even if they become democratic States or even tolerably decent to their own, that they will still pursue this path, the means may differ.
Long term, I don't think their hostility to the West would be as great if they developed to be less autocratic/more democratic. The West just existing in the form it does is potentially a big threat to the governments of both, similar to how potential success of the Communist system providing an alternative example was a threat to the West during the Cold War.
I think they are taking advantage of opportunities that present themselves. Europe is winding down its agriculture, gas and oil.
Other energy alternatives are being put in place but there will be a gap for years to come. In fertilizer, both dominate the globe. They are playing the hand given to them to the best of their ability. They are doing what was normal for most of history.
The West stopped doing that 30 years ago, trade and investment should have come with conditions. It should have been looked at from a strategic political position not just profit.
Well I think it has been a mixture of pure avarice, and also naive belief by Western politicians/leaders that existence of markets and trade and positive interactions (between the Western countries and both China and Russia) means that democracy and freedom will automatically increase, they will grow more like the West etc. in how they are governed because they must do that. They will just have to keep geeing freer in order to keep getting richer and their own people will demand that. That was a mistaken belief (or it is not happening on anything like the timescale that people hoped it would).
This belief might be gone, but avarice is still there and still directing alot of policy. As per some discussions earlier it's not just the Germans that may find trying to cut off Russia quite painful if it comes to it, and if same has to be done with China while Western countries are so dependent on outsourced manufacturing (as well as selling things to the giant Chinese market), even the US is going to suffer serious pain from it.
What ever cards Putin now has ( energy blackmail, military force etc.) they are all one trick pony's. When this all settles down, when ever that will be, the west in general and the EU in particular, will not allow themselves to be caught a 2nd time round. In this changing world, even with NATO, the EU should have its own standing army.
Will you join it? If you die for me it will be in vain. Off ya go
Like Russia killing 5000 children when leveling Grozny
War sucks...look at that city now. Its vibrant.
Yes they have a charming leader that Kremlin supports
You sound like a right pr*ck.
A welcome addition to Boards... not.
I said any soldier. Its just American soldiers are more abroad then others. I also didn't insult you so no need for the Pxxxx comment.
His dad was killed by former CIA trained Mujhadeen so having him on board was a smart move by Russia. He will be loyal and strong, what they needed in the Majority Muslim area of Russia.
Even Russian ( or other) conscripts Ahherelads, or do you mean the groups like the Russian Wagner soldier's? With Professional Contracts.???
Would not be the first time for me to be in a war situation....how about you?
Yeap, the whole lot.
Biden really hyping this up, the willful idiots in the western media lapping it up of course.
Not a hope. If a land based war happened here I'd join up no problem. From a defensive point to defend Ireland. Outside of that I have no value for any soldier's lives.
His dad was Akhmad Kadyrov
He fought against Russia in the first chechen war?
He was assassinated by Chechen Islamists in Grozny, using a bomb blast during a World War II memorial victory parade. His son, Ramzan Kadyrov, who led his father's militia, became one of his successors in March 2007 as the President of the Chechen Republic.
What part don't you understand?
