What's the best way to clean my waders and boots to ensure that invasive species like Asian clam and zebra mussel aren't carried over in other bodies of water?
Has anyone had any dealings with Asian clam, they're the most troublesome ones apparently
Check. Clean. Dry.
Check for any passengers/debris/dirt.
Clean thoroughly.
Leave to dry completely.
Doing the above will reduce the risk to almost zero. If you must move from one water to another without being able to dry your gear, you can get a disinfectant like Virkon and spray down your gear. A mild bleach solution like Milton will also do the job.
Well-wash through with / Soak in 45 degree+ hot water. It's "quite hot" shower temperature.
Gonna start cleaning my skeg out after a trip now, would do same with rudder too
