Why do we have so many fooking government ministers? We even have a minister for the Diaspora.
Rewards for the boys and girls. They probably have special advisors too.
Sounds like he's personally confident about the outcome, not that he knows anything about the investigation.
How many advisors does Eamon Ryan have now?
He should have kept his trap shut and not prejudge what may happen.
Didn't get that far in the interview. Was it a question he responded to?
Well he probably has a pot guy.
Hes capable of 'can't talk about that' or 'no comment' surely? Maybe not.
I presume he means it in the sense of "I know I did nothing wrong"
Also, there is no way any of the parties are going to pull the plug with their polling numbers where they are. Why on earth would they?
Laughable. What do you want him to say? That he is worried that he is in trouble?? That he is confident that he is guilty? Didn't Gerry Adams deny he did anything wrong all those times he was arrested.
Anyone who is fully confident that they didn't commit a crime would say the exact same thing. Only problem here is Leo living in people's heads.
Its simple he should have just "I can't comment on that as it is currently an open investigation" similar to what they say when asked questions in the Dail. He knew well what he was doing as well you know but as usual you are just on another WUM mission.
I think taking the phrase "I know what the outcome will be" in the investigation into the person and interpreting it to mean the investigation is corrupt and he has somehow been involved in it is far, far more of a "WUM mission".
"Didn't Gerry Adams deny he did anything wrong all those times he was arrested."
All these years later, and it's Leo who is living in other peoples heads...
Seems both Varadkar and FG are on WUM missions the last few days whatever that is trying to achieve. Todays latest is to tell us that the USC was never a temporary tax. This after FG promising in a few elections to remove it. Now is probably the best time to do it or even to cut it to counteract inflation. Instead they cut public transport fares. A load of crap.
Ah yes.. The not so temporary USC.

Timeline: Ireland's most-hated tax? Here is the history of the Universal Social Charge
Introduced as a temporary measure to get the country out of a deep hole, the Universal Social Charge has become more hated in Ireland than a bad cup of tea.
The Revenue helpfully describes it as: "The Universal Social Charge is a tax payable on gross income, including notional pay, after any relief for certain capital allowances, but before pension contributions."
Fast Forward to Todays paper: https://www.irishtimes.com/news/politics/universal-social-charge-cannot-be-abolished-says-donohoe-1.4799556
Universal Social Charge cannot be abolished, says Donohoe
Minister for Finance denies charge had been introduced as a temporary measure
Minister for Finance Paschal Donohoe has said that the Universal Social Charge (USC) cannot be abolished.
On Newstalk’s Breakfast show, Mr Donohoe denied that the charge had been introduced as a temporary measure.
“I never said it was temporary. It was the integration of two levies. The USC will remain an important part of our tax system,” he said.
The charge could not be removed because if that was done it would have to be explained where else to generate the money it collects every year, he added.
Paschal caught lying about USC. Surprised?
Their polling numbers won't improve and will either stay where they are or more likely to go down.
I just seen the 17 candidates running for the Seanad by election and one name that popped out is Hugo MacNeil, former Goldman Sachs bank and wife of the TD Jennifer MacNeil. It will be a sorry state of affairs if he gets in.
Maybe, maybe not. Don't see any reason they are more likely to go down, but either way still doesn't make any sense for any of the parties to pull the plug now.
Likely?
Last I checked there needs to be an election.
He is running in a by election.
I'm aware.
And himself likely becoming a senator.
Some rotten borough we have.
So this doesn't make much sense. In what way is he "likely" to become a senator and why does being democratically elected from a large field make it rotten?
What makes it rotten is that he represents vested interests.
He's not been elected yet
All politicians represent some kind of vested interests, particularly in the Seanad. He is running in one of the more "egalitarian" constituencies (not to suggest the Seanad as an entity doesn't need massive reform).
It's just a lot of outrage for something that hasn't happened yet and there is no particular reason to think is overly likely. Polling for these byelections is next to non-existent so the assertion that it is "likely" he will be elected is based on nothing.
One simple measure to make life a bit easier for people would be to stop taking such a big cut for themselves on the price of a litre of fuel but of course the greedy gobsh1tes won't do that at all.
Will you and I be getting a vote?
Outrage? Some. We've a housing crisis were the housing minister has investments in REITs and the former head of Goldman-Sachs is running for Senate, likely backed by the very politicians supposedly looking out for the public being priced out by...REIT's and Goldman-Sachs.
Any of this smell off to you?
He's their mastermind allegedly! Embarrassing really.
I will yeah.
likely backed by the very politicians supposedly looking out for the public being priced out by...REIT's and Goldman-Sachs.
You have an awful habit of using the word "likely" without any backing for it whatsoever.
Thats opinion based of their form.
You completely dodged my question. Good man.
It's remarkably easy to go for Seanad election. Voters in this case will all be Trinity graduates. Hazel Chu also on the list.
To put yourself forward as a candidate for the Seanad in the university constituency, you must be nominated by 2 registered electors for a university. Eight other registered electors for the university concerned must assent to your nomination. You do not have to be a graduate of the university concerned or be connected to it in any way. However, you must be eligible to become a Senator.
