The press release said it would be phased and grants for domestic applicants "will transition into the Micro-generation Support Scheme (MSS) grant from January 2021." [sic]

I assume they mean 2022 so hopefully we should see something soon enough. I'm waiting on it also.

When it does happen, we all know how it will go.

Suppliers will drag their heels as long as possible.

Offer rubbish rates while taking it back in multiples by hiking buying rates. Also making t&c's difficult to follow and having nonsense rules about having specific plant installed to qualify.

Government will do jack about it until forced by public opinion down the line by which time suppliers will have made a small fortune off the free energy fed in to the grid.

Actually most of that is already starting to happen.

As I write this, I'm thinking they don't give a shiny sh1te about fit as once electric cars become more common, they will soak up a lot of excess at source

For me, as we the generators are incurring 99% of the cost of home generation, feed in is essentially free supply to the grid for suppliers/networks, so the fit rate should be very close to the rate you buy at, 80/90%.

The closer it is to parity, the less need for batteries, making it more affordable for new installs, which moves us closer to the renewables targets we currently haven't a hope of achieving.

It's true they seem tobhave done a deal with Moxia Batterys but in my opinion that's not going to be allowed .ac is ac to grid ..will have to wait and see but I'd imagine that the kw price would have nothing to do with the type of battery you have

I don't see an FIT for domestic mentioned. The CEP tariff is for non domestic.

The €200 tax exemption payment is mentioned again. No real details on that.

From a quick scan nothing really new there.

Non-domestic applicants will be able to apply for a Clean Export Premium tariff for installations between 6kWe and 50kWe. In 2022, the CEP tariff will be €0.135/kWh. The CEP will be offered at a fixed rate for 15 years, and eligible volumes will be capped at 80% of generation capacity to encourage self-consumption
From January 2022, a tax exemption will apply to income up to €200 per annum received by domestic micro-generators from their suppliers by way of the CEG. This will mean that for the vast majority of domestic renewables self-consumers, who will typically have an installation of below 6kW, there will be no need to declare their income from the CEG

One bright spot is that houses built pre 2021 will be able to apply for the PV grant. Previously it was houses built before 2011

SEAI website was saying they'd update the grants in mid-Feb but now it's updated to end of Feb. Before we know it they'll be pushing it out to the summer.

Otherwise, you will get paid based on a deemed volume assumption determined by the Commission for Regulation of Utilities (CRU).

So an estimate... Time to try and not export anything 😂 (for people on standard meters)

Using the default values, on a 6kw inverter, would export about 1784 kwh.

I actually exported 1589 kwh.

And that was with a 10kwh battery. I now have 20kwh.

Even more reasons to stick on the standard meter.

Although if the feed in tariff is 0c (Cru minimum for ones playing along at home) it doesn't matter a damn.

Standard Day/Night meter and batteries. Can't see any FIT coming close to that combo for financials.
