hopefully those of us expecting March will be accommodated but until I hear from Tesla or my account shows a definitive VIN i remain anxious
I found my Ioniq quite noisy, and the Model 3 seems to be better in that regard based on a couple of test drives, so I'd say it'll be grand 👍
Worth a go 👍
You can always try. The desktop browsers print headers like the link where you're printing from and time. Print screens could be partials. Tell them you have ordered proper ones but to submit these to the bank to speed up the process.
Has it been confirmed anywhere that Model 3s will get rear laminated glass or is it just Model Y?
Yeah, I think I blew that one :-)
Yes. Print as pdf. I didn't even ask them if they accept or not. Just sent them like that. Now it may be too late.
I sent them screenshots, which they didn't accept. Did you literally just print them from your online account and then scan and email the printouts?
Idling for how long and driving how far? Not using the proper units hurts the narration.
Let's assume a consumption rate of 0.6l/h idling. Know that 1l petrol = approx 9.5 kWh. In one hour of idling one would use 5.7 kWh.
My cars after 80k km have an average consumption of 15-15.4 kWh/100 km which means I could drive about 37 km/23 miles (100*5.7/15.5) with the same amount of energy burnt by the petrol engine idling for an hour.
The reason why the tweet doesn't make sense is that it compares the energy burnt with the power necessarily to move the car. (probably assuming flat terrain?) while loosing some units on the way.
Energy = how much you have in tank, measured in kWh. For example a petrol tank of 50l is equivalent with a battery of 475 kWh.
Power = how fast you put/take in/from tank, measured in kW
In my case, I got a call from Natalie saying AIB was all approved and the VIN was in my account straight away. Hopefully it will be the same for you!
Just saw the following in a post on twitter, interesting...
"A gas-powered car burns more energy just to idle in a parking lot than an electric car uses to cruise down the road at 55MPH."
"(*Details: midsized gasoline engine at idle burns just over 0.3 gallons per hour = 11-12 kW electricity equivalent. Electric cars use about 0.2 kWh per mile at 55 MPH speed. And 55 x 0.2 = 11 kW.)"
Ouch, they offered me 4k more for my 2019 M3P ( stealth) with 47kms around 4 months ago
I have a good RECI who is not charging like the EV "specialists" and I think I'm roughly in same area as you if you PM me
Or a Pulsar Wallbox will work with your PV excess and is a bit cheaper than the Zappi.
I'm in the process of getting quotes for a Zappi, also. Have Solar PV already so it makes the most sense. First quote of €1399 (simple install) before the grant seems a little steep to me so I'm going to shop around a bit more.
If you have or plan to have solar, it's probably worth getting a Zappi over a Tesla.
I have a Tesla gen 2, and don't get me wrong its great for what it is, but now that I have solar, I need to get a Zappi. I was in Sandyford last week and had a look at the gen3, and it's quite nice as it's smaller than the gen 2.
I can plug the car in, and dial it down to as low as 5 amps when I know I have solar excess, but it's an entirely manual process, and a Zappi would just automate it all. (car is sitting on the driveway all day most days, so a Zappi makes absolute sense for me).
He went from an i10 to a M3P that’s some jump.
And remember it’s not Tesla offering that.
It’s the highest bid from the list of motor dealers that offered a bid for it.
Tesla are just a middle man here.
I remember when it happened.
I always put it down to lack of experience.
Some people were getting out of 320d’s and into Model 3 LR or P and not realising how the cars power delivery works.
Do the garage selling it know?
I rang them to enquire about it and possible trade in if my car.
It wasn’t until afterwards that I was chatting to a fellow boardsie who mentioned that it may be his car.
You can’t take Tesla’s trade in valuation as any sort of gauge to see what a car is worth…
it’s easily worth 60-65 in the private market.
my car, 2020 SR+, Tesla offered €39,600. We buy any car offered €43k for it.
I bought it last April for €60. It was a one owner car with (I think) 6k Kms.
Looking on carzone and the same model and year are making €65.
Tesla basically offering me €20 below the book price!!
How much have you lost in less than two years? Most used cars are going up in value. I paid 29k for an Audi in 2017. I got 22.5 k for it three weeks ago.
So Tesla came back to me with a trade in value for my model 3.
Model 3 performance 2020 with 22k Kms on the clock.
€46,400
No thanks.
That's a good idea, will do that. Thanks!
Print out the rest directly from the online baking from a computer. I did the same. Try to overlap some dates with the proper statements.
Yep, but they only have Oct - Dec there (which was what I gave them) and Tesla came back to me saying they need a statement from Jan. Spoke to the bank who said they can only post it out :-(
Do you have online banking with them you can download statements in PDF format from the app or browser.
Yeah, no VIN for me yet either. I presume they wait for finance to be approved before allocating a car.
I need to request an updated statement from my bank which is going to slow things down by a week or so 🙄 as AIB won't accept a quarterly statement ending Dec 31st
Same here! Still no VIN yet though.
