It was a money grab plain and simple.
GTAV should have gotten a PS4 Pro upgrade to 2560, and then it should have gotten a 60fps patch on PS5.
Yeah, it was released prior to the Pro but people were buying it and playing it for the entire life of the system. The amount of money they were raking in. The industry is trying to push games-as-a-service and yet you look at one of the biggest games and they couldn't be bothered updating it to the systems people are playing on. Absolute joke of a company.
This re-release is a cash-grab and I wouldn't touch it with a barge-pole personally. Doubly so after the Trilogy debacle. In the trailer it didn't even look enhanced at all.
Sifu reviews are now out and it's looking like an essential purchase.
Might pick this up instead of Dying Light 2 then. Should hold me until Forbidden West
I’m playing through it now, finished the first two and halfway through San Andreas at the minute, thoroughly enjoying it despite its shortcomings.
And yet I can also still freely admit that they f**ked this one up. I’m getting my money’s worth out of it, sure, but I pre-ordered so I might as well. I can’t say that it’s unplayable for me though, even with the odd hard crash here and there it’s been a great fun since they fixed the awful rain glitch.
I must be one of the few who’ve been very lucky with glitches, I haven’t noticed an awful lot more than I did in the original PS2 release. The missing songs are my biggest issue with it but I don’t mind that so much anymore.
I've mainly been playing PS4 games on the PS5 so I forget sometimes about the haptic triggers so when you play something that employs it like Dirt 5 or Uncharted 4 remaster it really surprises you with how effective they are and how they add that little bit more immersion to the experience.
We're already seeing quite a few issues with them though. My own RT is making a funny sound and doesn't feel right any more. It's grand when you turn off the haptic trigger though.
People on here probably sick of me and what I think of dualsense. I was blown away by dualsense when I played astros playroom. Amazing next gen experience. But after completing astro I disabled haptics and triggers due to problems discussed on this forum. Now both my dualsense have stick drift. Its not acceptable. For the price of these controllers they need to last.
Same. Thought it was incredible with Astro but every other game since that implements it doesn't do it well. I first had the issue with Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart and decided to just turn it off from there because it was so annoying. My PS5 controller is currently with Sony as I type due to stick drift so I can only play PS4 games at backwards compatibility.
They were great in Astro's Playroom but outside of that, meh. If you press the trigger fully then the haptics can't actually do anything. If I'm in a racing game I'm not feathering the trigger for the haptics to work. The half press for shooting is the only one that really works and it's not that great.
The vibration is great though, and the controller itself is very nice. Although the spring in my R2 seems to be slightly off now as resting my finger on the trigger sets it off (and I end up accidentally shooting in CoD online...)
The spring went in my og dualsense, returned it to Harvey and got sticky face buttons on that one. Traded that for a Red dualsense with gamestop and no issues at all. I think there were issue with early iteration of controller and I hope this has been resolved.
Im after buying DIRT5 ,
Have not installed it yet, is it any good?
Has anyone experience of trading a Dualshock 4 into CEX? Am just wondering if anyone could advise if they take just the controller on its own (without the box or cable). Thanks!
The haptics are shyte on dying light 2. All attacks, no matter the weapon, are the same. The triggers press fine for about 20% and then resistance for the other 80%. Adds absolutely nothing to the game, actually slows down combat when can get hectic. Worst part, no option to turn off haprics which i hope gets patched in. I turn off haptics in most games as the devs half arse them and only there because Sony have a requirement for them.
You're a month too late for getting it for free. Yeah it's good, very arcady for a racing game but great audio and physics
And I'd imagine it's this type of implementation that will be norm rather than like Astro.
got it for €35 in CEX with a voucher i got from my partner so essentially its free :)
thanks man ill give it a go this evening
Can you not turn off haptics on the PS5 itself? Never have but thought it would be an option
You can disable haptics and/or triggers for each user account in the ps5 settings
Speaking of Dirt 5,does anyone know what's going on with their online servers? Any time I go on to try a race, they say they're down
I've only played a bit of the career over the weekend but I enjoyed it. As duploelabs said, it's very arcadey but it's a solid racer.
Been about a week since I've played dirt 5 but had no issues with the Online when I was playing it and played a decent amount of it online
Really
literally gave it 15 mins yesterday ( before my 6 year old took over) . first impressions are really good!!
its arcadey but fun.
Will give it a proper go over the weekend
Hey guys can Sony help if you forgot which email you used for a psn account? I just got charged for an automatic yearly ps plus renewal on an account I don't have access to because I don't know the email address haha.
I know the username and I know the bank details will that be enough to get me back in if I ring sony customer support? It's been 10 months since I was online on that account
Rumours about there being a free PS5 upgrade for Forbidden West - I think means you can buy the cheaper PS4 version, and essentially get the PS5 for free
Will us folk outside US be getting that also, anyone know?
I thought the free upgrade was so everyone, certainly that was what was posted in the Horizon thread
Yep, thats confirmed. Sony said it was the last game they would offer the free upgrade for before bringing in the €10 upgrade fee.
These free upgrades from PS4 to PS5 - how do they work if someone was to sell the game second hand? Have they worked it so only one free upgrade per disk is allowed?
If you put the PS4 disc into your PS5, you're able to download the PS5 version. No limit, you just need the disc every time you play.
