The Christmas lights are looking great in town again this year. Well done to all involved with them.
Does anyone have reccomnedation on barbers? Walk in would be best as I'd say it would be hard to get a booking before Christmas. Standard back and sides razor and trim on top is all i need.
I'll be in tullamore for the afternoon Christmas eve so if anyone has reccomendatuons for nice places for lunch that would be great too
Browns Bistro is new and very good, The Brewery Tap if you want good pub grub or the Bridge House if you Carvery
I would just like to say Thank You to the girl who helped me out in Brand Max Tullamore today. Sinead I think was her name. She was very helpful. I could be wrong about the name do. But it began with on S. Anyway I bought a lovely red dress.
Just seen the terrible news about that poor young Woman that was attacked and killed along the Grand Canal walkway. Terrible sad. Her poor family. I hope the bastard that done it is in prison for a long time life for life it should be.
Absolutely sickening
Absolutely shocking. RIP to Ashling. I know her family well. How such a thing can happen in broad day light in town is unbelievable.
There needs to be a serious look at the courts and sentencing. If we need to build more prisons so be it. There needs to be serious long term consequences for committing crime. Murder should be at the very least life in prison with no chance of getting out.
The town will never be the same after this. Poor girl had her whole life ahead of her
Hopefully the other prisoners will sort the murderer when they get him
Has anybody heard any rumor's about who bought the Wolftrap/William St bar?
I wonder will they open it before Paddy's day
I was in the foxy bean yesterday morning for the first time.
Lovely full breakfast, great coffee and friendly staff.
I'll certainly be going back
i heard it’s a certain man who owns lots of other shops and buildings in town……. but I’ve no idea if it’s true.
Yep that's the rumour I heard too
I see work going on at the Wolftrap/William street pub. All signage removed, rumored that Browne's have taking it over
So I am curious. I see there is two Dealz shops in Tullamore. I am going there today. Which one is the biggest and which is the best to go to?
I'm only aware of the one beside Aldi, where is the second one?
According to Google it is hear bear Castle paints,
Looks like a goggle maps mistake (they do have some). There is only 1 dealz store in Tullamore and it's beside Aldi https://www.dealz.ie/store-finder/store_page/view/id/605/
Yes it must be. I was in it. Could be better stocked.
Does anybody know someone local who does Alloy Wheel refurb?
Work is flying along on the outside of the pub. I see Browne’s have signs up in the windows looking for staff etc. When they close the bistro the old Paddy Field will be empty again. After it and the Mad fashion shop it’s not having much luck.
I don't think the bistro is closing though
Planning permission has been granted for the planned changes to the old DEW Warehouse.
Great news, hopefully it will be open by X-Mas
Was there a Museum in the Dew warehouse at one point ?
Yes, 2 types actually.
When it opened around 2000 it was a Tullamore Dew and Tullamore Town Museum, but when Grants bought Tullamore Dew from C&C they refurbished the building again but the focus was only on Tullamore Dew then
Yea you’re right. Just read that in the Offaly. The pub will be open by the end of June.
So here is something I have been wondering about for a while. What is the story with the old Mr Price place. Like it looks terrible. When did he stop using it and why? It's a pity it would be nicer than the current shed unit.
The old building on High Street was never Mr Price. It was the Tv showroom of Kilroys’s. The shed at the back that is Mr Price was the home appliances section. Mr Price bought the two Kilroys buildings on that side of the street. The council bought the building opposite for the Arts Centre. Its a pity to see the old Tv showroom building closed up and plastered with Mr Price adverts.
