I'm all for having concerts in the venue, god knows they're empty for long enough so why not host these events and raise some money to pay for the stadium rather than pushing the costs onto the clubs.
But I can't accept prioritising them over our own championship matches. I'm trying to think back to the time when the concerts were announced, were the championship structure & dates for 2022 known at the time or was it still unknown due to covid? Either way surely it was known there was a good chance this could happen.
I'd have liked it to be on in PUR for a change, Cork played a championship match there against Dublin a few years back (2016 I think) and it was a good venue for the crowd it brought.
I really can't believe some fans don't seem to have a issue with moving the games out if Cork.
Have a 100 concerts or whatever you like but to have it over Cork Gaa?
The new board are no better than Frank and his yes men. Money talks at expense of fans who follow Cork.
It has always been amout the money, it's strange to somehow think that fans all of a sudden come first is kinda strange to be honest. I presume the concerts booked those dates for his Tour before the actual fixtures came out, not sure though. There was obviously a chance though that they could clash, but do you say no the Millions that Weekend will mean to the City of Cork, not just the Board?
The hurling game goes to Thurels, fine by me to be honest, I prefer going there.
The football game goes to Páirc Uí Rinn, much harder to get tickets of course but I too think the novelty factor of seeing it packed for a championship game will be good. Getting well beaten by Kerry in front of a half full Páirc doesn't exactly set the heart racing. Long gone are full houses down the Páirc for Kerry games in fairness.
Ideal, certainly not. But I am strangely looking forward to such an important game being played in Páirc Uí Rinn.
That said, I wouldn't want it to happen again, if it can be avoided, for such a major game.

It might take a few people to realize that we have replaced one Frank with another
Is the Cork Clare NHL game being broadcast on any station or streamed anywhere?
Yes on GaaGo website. You’ll have to pay a fiver though.
Some great scores, very unlucky in the end.
A very impressice scoreline for the hurlers in their win over Clare. The win was fairly guaranteed long before the end, Clare scoring 1-03 in injury time.
Cork 2-30 v 2-21 Clare
Worrying to concede so much in injury time.
How so? Game way over. Players hardly gonna bust a gut with literally no trouble that late.
Footballers poor again
Great win for the Hurlers. Feel sorry for Ballygiblin. They gave it everything and can be very proud of their effort.
A draw not the worst result, an improvement on last week.
Ah come on now
What happens if there was only a point in the game?
Somehow I don’t think they’d have dropped tools like that if only a point in it. Motivation doesn’t quite work like that
Tried to watch the footballers. Stayed as long as I could (which was half time). Ricken was f'ing and blinding on the sideline, they kept going backwards despite him urging them to go forward. Putrid stuff.
We were in a losing position and managed a draw.
You can look at the positives as well while still being critical of the team. Our form is not good at all but a draw against a team who won by 9 last week, was welcome after our loss the first day.
Wouldn't be carried away . Without Kelly , Clare are an average Divusion 2 team
ouch!!.....
i heard a few lads talk about no passiion in the jersey tonight , but its about more than that if cork are to get back up to division 1 , this team is a long way off the team of ten years ago , when you think about how good that team was with pearse o'neill , goulding , kerrigian, o'connor and aidan walsh the current team is along way from that , ian mcguire and sherlock from finbars will add massivly to the panel but only hurley and mcguire could be mentioned in the same breth as the team from 10 years ago , its going to take time in fairness
Just saw that Cork won their opening game in the Camogie Minor Championship and it was up in Galway so sounds like a good win.
Camogie Minor Championship Round 1
Galway 0-06 Cork 0-08
Cork were terrible lads just be honest here. If we are struggling against CLARE yes I said Clare what hope have we competing against the Kerrys Dublins, Tyrones if we want to get to their levels? We be lucky to stay up in division 2 this year. Appalling state of affairs for Cork football. We should be doing better. We have plenty of clubs to choose from and the most in the country. Obviously our structures, way of organising gaa in Cork is a huge problem.
