First date location

Hi there people. Hope someone can help.

I have first date tomorrow February 5th in town. Meeting around 12:30 in afternoon and wondering which bars would be good to go. Looking for somewhere nice and with a bit of atmosphere. Don’t want somewhere very quiet. Somewhere with a bit of a buzz and cosy would be ideal I think. Thanks guys

OK, so tomorrow will be VERY busy in town. Ireland are playing Wales in the rugby in the Aviva, so pubs that cater to watching sport, will likely be packed.

That match is at 2.15 I think. Once that's over, you could expect an influx of fans arriving within an hour of the match being over, especially if the pub is over the Ballsbridge side of town.

Somewhere like The Bank on Dame St. might be good for a first date? It won't be over ran with rugby fans, but should have a bit of buzz as it's central, plus it's a nicely spaced out bar, so you shouldn't have people right on top of you listening in on the awkward, clearly on a first date conversation.

I think a hotel would be better. Some hotels can be quiet enough in the bar to have a good chit chat.

Nice one I appreciate that!. I’ll give the bank a go. I just needed someone to give me a name of some place to go that is a people pleaser. Not bad location either I suppose because I can look around nearby if the Bank isn’t suiting her.

Spot on, and what's more they often have wingback chairs and comfortable sofas. Hotel bars are great if you just want to have a talk with someone in a comfortable environment.

The Shelbourne is not an option on a home rugby day, the team stays there. Will be mental. Not to mention the crazy prices in the bars there anyway.

Avoid the Stephens Green/Baggot Street area as that's where the real crowds will be. The Bank is a great call.

Hello guys! Sorry for getting back to you late.

Date went great, Really hit it off! She carried me for the first hour with my bit of nerves but I started making fun of her then and it was gravy after that:) We’ll be having a winter wedding

After my worry of picking the right spot she had done it herself so she picked where to try. Went to The long hall to loosen up. Lovely spot for it if I do say so myself. Spent the rest of it in Hogans and great buzz there. Simple pubs done the job in the end.

Appreciate the help and advice and now I have locations for the next one! Win win
