There was no coup in Ukriane. Yanukovych bolted from Kiev ahead of an impeachment vote after the Berkut murdered over 100 civilians in the street. He was voted out by the parliament congruent to the Ukrianian constitution. He then (quelle surprise) ended up in Russia licking his wounds.

This is it. Their reflexive adoption of the Putinite point of view comes with it the doctrine that Ukraine's sovereignty is always subservient to Russia's needs and Russian strategic doctrine.
Their starting point is "America hurr dee durr" and the penny is still dropping they're subscribing to a doctrine of military force and coercion like something from the 1930s.
