Coincidentally just today I was visiting a house and noticed Praszky and Bud cans in the recycling where there was always Tuborg cans before.
Chap in offo said there re launching them in smaller cans, see what happens I suppose.

easy to sign up online, you will get your card no on email
they can just enter your card no at checkout, though some plonkers on till either won't, don't know how or are just to dim
you can download tesco uk app on android if you set account to UK (think i was actually up north though when I did it)
couldn't get UK app on my iphone
you can add the card number to Google Pay and it will generate a QR code for you to scan - I don't know if Apple Pay has the same feature, but there are other apps for storing your loyalty cards.

You (I) would wonder what happened to the leftover stock in the smaller retailers?
Aldi have a load of their cheaper stuff sitting there at close to double the old price.
At least Lidl sold their stuff off for half nothing in the week before MUP.
On another note, be prepared for a 60c per pint jump in pub prices shortly.
A cautionary tale.
Made an order on MyBooze on the 25th. Set to arrive on the 31st. UPS declared it lost yesterday (it had supposedly reached Finglas last Friday), so I contacted MyBooze to launch an inestigation with them, but this morning received a letter from the Rev. to state the goods were being detained and subject to Excise & VAT.
Contacted MyBooze again today and got the following:
As it seems, your package has been seized by local customs. Unfortunately, this is something that happens from time to time, as local authorities seem to prefer ignoring your EU rights and charging local taxes on top of the taxes that have already been paid.
Anyway, they gifted me a voucher to the value of the Excise & VAT, so all is not lost.
That said, as I understand future seizures of this nature at customs wil be subject to VAT, Excise & a penalty, so I'll be letting someone else make the next order.
For what's it's worth, the value of the order was €450, made up of 6 bottles of spirits.
Went in to Lidl just the day before mup kicked in and asked manager about getting a reduced rate on crates of Faxe. Was planning on buying about 10 crates (120 cans). Was told he couldn't as prices were determined by head office. I don't they have even sold a singe can since 4th of January.
Its crazy with the news that they are looking at providing tax cuts because of the Cost of living increases and this is when they decide to bring in MUP. Dickheads
Sorry to hear that ... had a feeling the increase in orders from Mybooze.eu would alert the customs. Happy I got two slabs through before the clampdown. Not sure I'd risk it again.
That's it, judging by this thread, even a few days earlier any maybe I'd be alright. Or maybe a smaller order may have slipped in.
Anyway, I think MB have done all they can re: voucher. And there's no penalty involved, it's just excise & VAT, so I'd say it's worked out somewhat alright, bar the uneccessary stress.
But, I'll definitely be letting someone else avail of the voucher.
It's also illegal to offer a discount just to you because you are buying quantity X of an item.
Technically, he'd have to reduce the price of crates in store.
That sucks. I also have an order on the way. It left France on Wednesday evening.

€107.60 was due on an order of €450.
I ordered on the 25th, and was given a delivery est, of the 31st.
It was in Finglas on the 28th, and UPS informed me it would be delivered on the 31st and again on the 1st. Then, I just stopped getting updates.
I'm sure he could have reduced the in-store price just to get rid of the stock which was a slow moving item.
Totally, sounds like it'll just sit there without that.
LIDL very poor on offers at the moment, they have a wine on offer via the app for Valentine's Day but not even reduced to its MUP baseline.
Would duty apply to an order under €150, my order was going to be around €100. Can you pay revenue direct & not have to pay a fee to UPS to collect please.
My order from MyBooze seems to have slipped through as it's out for delivery but there was always a likelihood of Revenue copping on to this unfortunately. They've handled it well to be fair to them.

Are you allowed so much of certain items and when you go over that you pay duty?
Yip, the letter will have a link and a reference no. It takes one minute… They make it very easy to collect money off us 🤣🤣
no - you have to pay duty on any booze you import unless you bring it in personally.
the €150 threshold is for items from outside the EU (which is why importing goods from the UK is now much more complex). Booze has different rules.
