sorry I see now you ordered Nov
I think it's the first session thats free, not all day.
Walkinstown location is at Agnelli Fiat place right? It's right off the red luas line, couldnt be any better served by PT
Ha not coming from back arse of Wicklow - but I take your point.
Do you have a VIN in your source code? I also ordered in November but white paint. I have a VIN which should indicate it's in transit and according to TMC it should be on Hyperion Ray as the timings line up with the text yesterday.
Do you have a VIN in your source code?
No VIN in my account so far.
I was surprised when I got the text because I'd checked for a VIN yesterday just before I got the text, but then who knows exactly how the sequence of VIN - texts - delivery is managed. I'd guess if you have a VIN then your order is more advanced than mine so hopefully this doesn't apply but I thought it worth mentioning in case any of you were also notified in error. I'm glad I checked though as I have to sell my current car and I'm hoping to have a few weeks notice of the Model 3 delivery.
Speaking of which, anyone fancy an Alfa Romeo Giulia Speciale diesel, 181 reg, black with top spec interior and 50k miles? Available some time in early March/mid March/late March/early April....
I meant no VIN in the source code - I got that pointer from earlier posts in this thread.
To be specific I ordered my car on November 24th so were those with VINs earlier than that?
I ordered on the 22nd of November. For what it's worth, there seems to be a lot of activity in Shanghai at the moment so your car could very well be loaded in the next few days. For reference, I got my VIN on the 17th of January and my suspected ship set sail on the 12th of January.
It kinda looks like texts with VINs get sent when the ship gets through the Suez canal and into the Med (from observing the ship tracking thread on TMC)... Am I right?
Delivery scheduled for 25th February, only a single date offered with 4 time slots
Also just received text to pick a delivery slot. Ordered 9th November (M3, Blue, RWD, Black Interior, 19")
Despite all my earlier negativity it seems I am also getting my delivery on February 23rd! Not sure how this changed from yesterday but I'll take it. The pickup is set for Baldonnell which isn't the handiest to get to. It's a mad process.
One question for those of you that have done this - does the car come fully charged or will I need to go charge it?
Delivery just scheduled for Feb 22nd :)
They usually have more than enough charge in the car to get you home, and failing that you get a free Supercharging session on the way home if needed.
Great to hear some dates coming through, I've no word yet, ordered 2nd Nov, (M3,RWD,White/White interior, 18") had hoped for a Feb. delivery date when ordered, but doesn't look like that will happen now.
My brother has one of these, they really are a very poorly built car, I’ve seen Better built cars from budget brands like Kia or Hyundai or Dacia.
What year is your brothers car.
Hyundai & Kia are not budget brands anymore and are renowned for having a high build quality rivaling the Japanese marques of Toyota & Honda for reliability. The fact Kia offer a 7 year manufacturer wty says it all really.
Dacia definitely budget. They are masters of stripping out any 'unnecessary tech'. But to be fair they know their market exceptionally well.
Dacia calls its development process "design to cost." A price target for a certain part is set, and designers, engineers and suppliers work together to meet that price.
No vin in source and no text even though I ordered Sept 17th. Is there any other boardsie on here with an earlier order date but no vin, no text message with delivery date or no new M3 in their driveway?
this is not a fun part of the process. I suppose it’s because Tesla have cut dealers out of the equation and supply shortages plus Ireland is the last small at the end of long journey from Shanghai. The sales guys in Sandyford are in the dark as much as we are. I have the choice of a yacht blue EV6 gt line at 61k and I don’t know whether to jump or stay in the Tesla waiting game.
I reckon this is all because i ticked the tow hitch option for M3. Feck that tow hitch anyway.
Anyone ordered a red M3 RWD 18” in November and have received the text and/or VIN?
I ordered mine late October and I have. Nothing yet 🙄
2021, you expect premium build quality when you’re charged a premium price. The range is not great either as someone mentioned above. He’s thinking of selling it and buying Audi or BMW EV.
In 2021, a poor quality Model 3 would be the exception, as since production shifted to China, the quality has vastly improved..
What are the main issues encountered on it?
I just know what he tells me over text or phone. He has found numerous faults with it, panel fit/alignment, gaps, paint blemishes, centre console issues, he also said the dealer is terrible to deal with. He’s judging it by German built premium cars of a similar price.
Is he in Ireland?
If he's having trouble dealing with Tesla Ireland, tell him to contact the admins on the Tesla Owners Facebook group, they have direct lines to Sandyford, and can get things done/solved/fixed...
Yes, he is, I’ll text him now, thanks for that.
The Audi and BMW EVs are a good bit more expensive and less efficient e.g. less range and have all these old fashioned buttons for things that the Tesla does for you 🙂
Those old fashioned buttons are much safer though…..😃
I'm having trouble with Spotify on mine. Reading on the forums it seems to be a common enough problem.
Winter range has been poor but summer range I found was quite good. Mine is the M3P and I was easily getting over 400kms on a full battery. Driving to Kerry quite regularly and a quick stop in Birdhill (not really needed but the dog needed out and I needed a slash!!) would easily do the trip.
It’s like Sept 2019 all over again :)
😂
Safer than a touchscreen maybe, but for example I find the auto seat heating controls in the Model 3 much safer than reaching for the buttons on my 3 series.
All the control's you need are under your thumbs, no need for another 50 buttons you don't need.
Look at a Q4 Etron, is it 5 buttons on the wheel to do the same functions as one scroll wheel on a model 3?
I've driven enough rentals over the last few years to appreciate less is more when it comes to buttons. I'm sure if you ask drivers most of them don't even use most of the buttons anyway.
Look at the amount of brand new cars with people driving in the dark with daylight running lights on the front and no rear lights on. See a couple every day and they're usually less than 3 years old, no reason lights aren't automatic on all new cars.
