As of 14/01/22, still nothing has started on this.

Take your time lads, no rush.
Waiting for the ground to dry out.
Have seen a few Road Bridge cars around the Strokestown tie in recently. Probably planning the works start or scoping out where to get the breakfast.
Most of that land is pretty dry, certainly for the time of year given the weather over recent months. It's as dry as its gonna be really, anyway, given that it is marginal/mixed quality land in nature.
Road closure notices in the local papers from March 1st, for some small side roads affected by the bypass.
Still not much activity around the last job Roadbridge we’re on they were doing haulroads and getting cells ready for bog when the rain was pouring
something a little strange with this job nothing happening at all .
They were doing some surveying type work last week I know, I know a lad that was in it doing some measuring of levels or something
Any start on this yet? It's a long time since the sod was turned...
No
Joke of a delay on this. Somethign very irish about it.
Anyway, some constructive comments now. I wonder if the build here will cause alot more Dublin-Mayo travel to be done via the M4->N5 rather than M4->M6->N61->Tulsk->N5. The local delays/cancellation of upgrades to the N61 recently, coupled with this being built should see to.
The existing surface of the road near Tulsk is a disgrace. The road is literally peeling away. Needs to be re surfaced ASAP.
Id guess the majority of Mayo to Dublin Traffic south of castlebar goes N17/M/17/M6 way since the motorway opened.
problem with the contractor roadbridge. Looking like it will be going to the next tender and that was bam.
Roadbridge are setting up their compound at the moment
Very long delay in getting this urgently needed project up and running.
It seems more like something you'd hear of in the Banana Republic Ireland of the 1980s, not the 2020s.
There going into liquidation.
Have you evidence to prove this claim?
just wait a few weeks and then you will have all the “evidence”you want.
You have made a sweeping claim with no evidence, and all that we can rely upon is wait and see? You have to have some sources to back up what you're claiming, otherwise it's just unsubstantiated hearsay.
If needs be, can they even go to 2nd now or would it have to be a retender and waste another year/summer?
from what I was told, they have a 2nd and 3rd tender, bam and Willsbros, and it would not need to be retendered.
I heard Roadbridge owe a lot of money so maybe true
An awful lot of "from what I've heard/what I was told" and not a lot of actual evidence to confirm these claims. Third-hand hearsay is not evidence.
Bam/Wills were in JV again, Siac Colas were the third bidder.
Irish Times now reporting this
IT reporting Road Bridge in trouble....
Fears grow for 1,000 jobs linked to construction firm Roadbridge (via @IrishTimes) https://www.irishtimes.com/business/construction/fears-grow-for-1-000-jobs-linked-to-construction-firm-roadbridge-1.4823905
Do you still think it’s Third-hand hearsay?
Irish Times making it out better than it is I think, talk is there is an announcement due this morning.
