Host means they list ecars sites on the app and charge for them. . They manage their own
Yes there's pushing the truth a little but I'd contend that that's as bad a lie as self charging is. They flat out do not manage the ecars chargers.
I really like that their map gets some shape and the chargers are used.This will give them more data and allow them to convince more and more sites. I can't not notice the clustering in some regions. That has some story to tell.
If you use latest version of app you can turn off roaming partners and see non ESB chargers.
There is a geographic range ring that cuts off Kerry etc. They do have a lot of easygo managed sites. Some are private business chargers, some are council mixed private and public, many are Lidl free AC or paid DC. All that said most are AC which don't tend to make much or any income at real scale versus maintenance.
I used that app with the roaming turned off and all it showed me were chargers installed at three nearby industrial estates for employees. Useless.
I was really anticipating good things from easygo when I saw the two DC units at one site and heard the deals with eir etc but they seem to have gone backwards, first installing SPOF chargers in 2021 and then lying about managing and maintaining the ecars chargers

They have very, very few DC chargers but kinnegad has 2 next to each other on main Dublin Galway Sligo road. All other DC chargers are single site, but often nearby DC charger. They have 2+ in Dublin. Newer chargers may be 75kW. They seem to be installing one DC charger a week at lidl stores. The likes of Lidl Bray DC is very close to motorway and it's a newer store. They don't have anything like ESBs network, but if they continue to roll out Lidl and later phone box sites, they may have a half decent option for specific areas. They have a few 50kW at hotels which makes food better assuming charging time is when restaurant is open. Toilets also tend to be better. If you add up all the non esb options such as Ionity, Tesla , then ESB may have some competition.
ESB definitely has competition. I personally didn't charge @ecars DC in the last 6 months and I have 2EVs and no home option. When easygo opened DCs in Dublin I said I'm going to move 10% of the business from ecars to easygo just to support them. Little I knew I ended up using them almost exclusively. They may be 40% more expensive but the peace of mind.... If I look at the billing this year I'm @295 with easygo and 265 ecars, and probably another 200 Ionity and Tesla 20. This is compared to 2020 when ecars bill was @about 800 Ionity 100 and easygo less than 100. Overall this year I drove about 25k km which 30% less than I used to before the ....
The credit card payment module on the tritium unit at Helix DCU is online. You can pre-auth 20 quid. Unfortunately for me the charger trows me ERR 72 second I plug the car in. Interesting I saw someone charging on CCS yesterday. For me is the 3rd consecutive try in a week and I DC charged elsewhere since.

From what I see Hillview (not even sure where that is) and New Ross were never done.
Hillview seems to be in the North
Wicklow Town lidl is being refurbished at present. Personally I hope they install a 50kW pay charger like Bray, although Tesco esb 50kW charger is a few hundred metres away, but it is somewhat busy the odd time. It will be 2022 before it get the charger anyway.
Is this live? I don't see it on easygo app, plugshare app etc? Can you get a photo or screenshot from app ?
They charge less than ESB so hopefully they do install a DC unit ,and clean up ESB's business there.

Their unit at texaco lough atalia road is 40c/unit + 27c access while the standard ecars plan is 30.5c/kWh for the fast chargers
At my local Lidl store they charge €0.27 connection, and €0.28/kWh for DC charging, so take more than 11kWh and it works out cheaper than eCars
Yeah just saw that now at tip-town... Strange that easygo have 2 different price structures, maybe lidl are subsidising the ones in their carparks. In 45 minutes at 44kW charging you'd get at least 33kWh as well so definitely savings to be had
The only thing is they might not be the full 50 or 44kW...
My local one is only 24kW, but still, at least everyone will get that 24kW.. unlike at Tesco AC units where teh majority will only get 7 or 11kW..

I messaged them via the app on 23rd to tell them both sides of the charger at my local Lidl are down.
Still heard nothing back, 4 days later.
They don't seem to be as fast as ecars to fixing issues, my local lidl has been down to 1 side working since before christmas
Had issues in Kinnegad yesterday too, another person in a KIA eSoul also had issues.
Couldn't get it to initiate the charge, had enough to get home so wasn't heavily relying on it.
I'd imagine any expenses needs to be approved by lidl which add to the delay. When I contacted them about the one at the Helix trowing some errors they replied quite fast. (days). Lidl Boghall is cheaper than their standard DC so I'd say is subsidized by Lidl
Yeah, that's the bother with easygo from what I hear. They can't help with power to the site. They take whatever power isn't being used by the site and load balance it to the charger. Don't try charging when they're baking all the morning croissants :)
