€3.55 if you’re paying €50. I think somebody said they got them for €42 up north, that’s €2.98
Found the receipt from Saturday, was getting cocktail ingredients. No idea whether this is good value or not, just needed stuff in a hurry!

Wouldn’t do any harm to register interest for the Blade beer system, let them know people are at least aware of it in Ireland and with the minimum alcohol price , these kegs are not crazy prices, they go for €28 on the continent so I don’t see why €35 is not a realistic price for here. If priced correctly I think they would be a huge success

Heineken which owns Blade has given them free to a lot of pubs on condition they only put 0.0 in them. I’ve seen them in a lot of pubs!
Is the beer not the same as in a can ?
Was in Tesco wine dept to-day. I get a strong impression that MUP has affected a huge range of wines which were always slightly above MUP. This was predicted: something about maintaining the existing price relativities. To me it looks like MUP will be a bigger rip-off than its advocates were claiming.
Of course the barstools will be glad!
That's only calculating the cost of the keg. Factor in the cost of the cooler/dispenser and it works out at nearly the same price as a pub (working out 250 times usage).
So, to me, its an expensive alternative to the pub - which isn't ideal.
As someone mentioned it should be €35 a keg, no matter what one you pick.
Anyway, cans of beer should a buck a can. Not €2 each ffs.

What else is needed? I thought the blade was just an all-in-one, plug-and-pour type job?
Do you need other consumables to be able to use the machine?
It is all in one! Each keg has its own gassing system!
When you factor in the cost of the machine (€450 to €500~) the kegs are the consumables so yea, not worth it imo.
Cheers, yeah I was aware of the machine and the kegs.......the way the other poster was talking about the system, though, I thought there was something else you need.
Seriously? 8 hour round trip, circa €70 on fuel just for a few quid savings on alcohol.
I drive to Portadown every few weeks and can't be arsed making a two minute detour into Asda.
Sometimes I even have a van and still could not be bothered.
I'm heading north from Dublin this weekend, how much alcohol are we allowed bring back if there are two adults in the car? Mainly thinking slabs of beer as its just so expensive. Can't seem to find the info online only info about coming from the eu to Ireland. Thanks

Technically it's the eu limits but no one is checking for it... the eu limits are only guidelines and are pretty generous to begin with. But as long as it is for your personal consumption there is no limit. So if stopped just cite MUP and restocking for the year!

I have live in Cork and have in-laws in Donegal so I have 2 to 3 trips a year minimum. Worth while for me when up there. But a journey from Cork to Newry is a 4 hour trip each way (can do it in 3.5 without a stop)
You'd want a van and you would want to be spending a lot to make that trip worth your while.
On principle - All my beer cans will be sourced from the north until further notice.
12 bottles of Tiger for €16 in my local Supervalu yesterday which seems about as good as you'll get.
2 bottles of Canadian Club and a bottle of Four Roses arrived this morning from My Booze.EU €63 all in. Saved between €40 and €55.
