That place is an arsonist dream
I didn't mention anything, I am not that poster.
I am not that poster.
sorry edited the post now
I like how they have done up inside this cottage - fairly simple but looks warm and inviting - despite the Ber G rating and the blankets on the couch! Probably a bit overpriced imo at €98k although the market in Sligo is on the up in general.
Once I saw the off-centre manhole in the courtyard lawn I was out. My OCD is killing me.
I think the idea of the thread is to show unusual houses with unusual interiors not just houses for sale. That house would be freezing and damp no mater what they have done so far. It's just an old cottage nothing strange
I thought the interior was unusual in comparison to the exterior so I posted it, is that ok?
I'm all the happier for seeing it. It's quite charming.
Not sure what is unusual about it any shape or form. I guess you have a lower standard than me
Why? The property was priced at the absolute top of the market, not for a spectacular house and heaps of glaring shoddy workmanship. He would have to spend an absolute fortune with no garuntees that the chimney or the stairs would be done right. pure money pit. Dont worry about the friend he got a much nicer place within his budget, with no major renovations to be done for years.
Yes but every house in the estate for the last three years has been priced 20k less and I doubt that would house would ever realise a value of €300k with tonnes of money poured in. That house has been up for two years now atleast, in a housing crisis and no one is buying it? What does that tell you about it? Smarter men have looked at it and couldnt see the Benefit over risk. Also the owner wasnt willing to negotiate on price.
That is all perfectly fine and reasonable but it was not reflected in the price and the price was not open to negotiation, according to the friend. The retired builder had nothing more to gain from the survay, that he didnt complete. There was no extra sell, or an invite to do work afterwards.
The flue was cracked and needed a full tear down he said. We still dont know if there was anything wrong with the attic. The builder said it wasnt worth doing up at that price.
what is going on in pic 12? what is that next to the shower?
It appears to be a pull-up roller blind. Any more than that is a mystery.
Great investment as a wedding location. IMO.
I'd say it's hiding the washing machine. There isn't one in the kitchen and there doesn't appear to be a utility room
That's well deduced!
Houses for sale is a good way to get a peek inside, some might be unusual, it depends on what you're looking for.
Maybe you want this thread;
Well we shall all do our utmost to live up to your majesties standards in the future.
Oh well spotted, I was just going to suggest it was storage or shelving of some sort!
Just goes to show, never judge a book by its cover (but the price can give a clue!)
If Austin Powers had a place in the Dublin suburbs!
That house is fab. Must be owned by an interior designer - absolutely love it.
Serious of bad taste in this house. Could be a good house though for those that can see past the wacky decor!
God almighty! 😳
That bedroom in pic 2 reminds me of my old school classrooms!
At first I was thinking "don't turn on a blacklight" because I assumed it was owned by a swinger. But the two Macs and the easels confirm it is a weird artsy person. Who may or may not also swing.
Shagtastic baby!
Not saying I'd live there, but I found it much more entertaining scrolling through the Stepaside photos than the Galway photos. There's no hope for me 😀
Aren't most houses sold unfurnished? So a lot of what you see in the photos that might look nice will be gone. All that you can expect to be the same will be kitchen, bathroom (-appliances) and floors.
