Small treble for interest....
Laois-1
Kerry-7
Over 1.5 goals in the Barrs club semi
at over 6/1
And
a treble on the Cork teams....
Cork win
Mourneabbey ladies -1.5
The Barrs +4.5
at nearly 5/1
Single on Mourneabbey -2 at Evens
Laois -1 v Louth (EVS) stands out to me. Gone from EVS to 8/11 to win the game since yesterday.
I fear a hammering for my own county Kildare tomorrow so Kerry -7 seems generous. Kildare will do very well to keep that under 10 points.
I’ve money on Derry -2 v Down tomorrow night @10/11 fingers crossed good start to the league.
clare 6/5 not to be relegated in division 2
Not that ridiculous to suggest Cork going down (still raging I didn't put money on my suggested bet in the McGrath). They are a very undercooked team at the moment.
Will probably look at these for the weekend, treble @ 5/1
Derry -3 v Down
Kerry -6 v Kildare
Tipp -5 v Waterford
One that caught my eye was Cork 5/1 to be relegated.
A bit of a long shot but I do think it's not beyond the bounds of possibility.
They were absolutely shocking in the McGrath Cup game.
If Brian Hurley picks up an injury they will be in major trouble in terms of getting scores.
Between players opting out/retirements and injuries, there is a real lack of quality in the squad.
They also have 4 games away. Also I'm not convinced about Ricken as a manager.
Maybe wait and see what team is named
They are probably lucky to be playing Roscommon as Roscommon have a lot of lads of club duty and out injured and wouldn't have great panel depth.
I'll be gobsmacked if Cavan don't get out of Division 4 and I'd be surprised if Westmeath don't get out of Division 3 - not sure how much value is there though.
Any football league predictions?
Any tips for club hurling tmr?
Clifford on the bench and an experimental midfield of Sean O Shea and Adrian Spillane.
No Moran, Jack Barry or Diarmuid O Connor.
Perish the thought but the way we look like lining up, Cork could actually get a result in Killarney.
Thankfully it's only McGrath cup if they do manage it.
Kerry are -7 on the handicap for the McGrath Cup Final at home to Cork. If Clifford is playing, that could be free money.
Anyone have the panels for Fitzgibbon cup?
Na Gaeil, really should win handy enough I think.
Senior game should be closer but Stacks by 5 at a guess.
Actually put G @ 4/9 in a treble.. waiting on two more teams.. BoyleSports had them from 1:6 to 4/9 started at 1/3 then
One lad played for Gneeveguilla today and had his leg heavily strapped. Got taken off after going down injured again on 40mins but damage was done on the scoreboard at that stage. Other lad didnt even tog out so info was good.
Na Gaeil will win heavily tomorrow, Stacks could go either way but I expect them to win a tight match.
What do you think for intermediate final?
na Gaeil v Corofin?
I've no skin in the game, not my club or county, makes no difference to me who won.
From a betting perspective, had I seen they went to 4/9, I would have added them to a number of selections this weekend, as I thought there was only going to be one winner of the Junior final.
Lets move on.
Well, I doubt your sincerity tbh, its just how it reads.
But I'll take you at your word. Fair enough.
Who is bitching and moaning?
If you read the thread, you can see I commented on a poster who liked the look of the opposition's odds. I actually agreed with you - that a Kerry treble would be the bet. I listed the sheer frequency of Munster Junior Club titles won by whatever Kerry Team won in Kerry - that's a historical fact.
My exact words were that a Kerry Junior Football Club team winning Munster was nearly a given at this stage - which, in reality it is - as today, the Kerry team won again.
I also said, Kerry Junior winning team is a grade above Junior in essence , to most other counties- through ability or whatever - which it clealry is. Be it the Kerry club set up, the standard of junior football in the county etc.
You can take that as a bitch and moan if you want to - but you would be wrong. It is the reason why I favoured the Kerry treble and would Never bet against a Kerry Junior Club in Munster - no matter what club from any county they were playing.
Did I miss your post complaining when the Cork Champions beat the Clare champions by 2-15 to 1 point in the quarter final of the same competition.
Is this a betting thread or a bìtch and moan about Kerry teams winning thread?
Another victory for a Kerry Junior football Club team in Munster today!
4-18 v 1-06
Ridiculously consistent in fairness.
Steven O Briens ban got overturned this evening. Gneeveguilla have a couple of injuries after a challenge match against IT Tralee on Sunday evening.
They are gone down to 2/1 now !
kerry team were 1/6 on now 4/9??
Any good tipsters anyone follows online?
I'm aware of the Cork club situation, but a Kerry Junior winning team is a grade above Junior in essence , to most other counties- through ability or whatever.
In the past 20 years or so, All bar 3 of the Munster Junior Football champions have been from Kerry, going on and winning the All Ireland around 10 or 11 times. A Kerry team winning the Munster Junior Football FInal is nearly a given at this stage.
The winner of the Junior football competitions in the various Munster counties this year
Kerry - 25th best team in the county [24 teams in the senior and intermediate football championships]
Limerick - 25th best team in the county [24 teams in the senior and intermediate football championships]
Clare - 26th best team in the county [25 teams in the senior and intermediate football championships]
Waterford - 29th best team in the county [28 teams in the senior and intermediate football championships]
Tipperary - 32nd best team in the county [31 teams in the senior and intermediate football championships]
Cork - 53rd best team in the county [ the reason for this is because Cork have 2 different tiers at "senior" and 2 different tiers at "intermediate".
Cork GAA's decision to have 2 tiers called senior and 2 tiers called intermediate means that they can only enter their 5th tier called Junior into the Munster Championship.
A problem wholly of Cork GAA's own making that they could solve in an instant by renaming their 2nd tier to Intermediate and their 3rd tier to Junior, but that would force too many clubs to give up pretending they were senior/intermediate so instead they try to make out that Kerry are somehow cheating.
His appeal is tonight. I'd be surprised if it was overturned given it was in the first minute but with GAA disciplinary system you never know.
Even if he is back, I still wouldn't be touching Ballina. Gneeveguilla have a lot of quality footballers throughout their 15. Pa Warren played a half for Kerry in the McGrath Cup last week and they would have a few more that played underage or Junior for Kerry. They lost the 2020 Junior Final by 2 points after extra-time and they lost the semi-final in 2019 to Na Gaeil by 2 points [Na Gaeil won the All-Ireland that year] so their win this year has been coming. They'll be playing in Division 1 of the County League next year, having won 3 consecutive promotions in 3 years as well.
The only thing that would tempt me to back Ballina is if I heard Gneeveguilla had to deal with a COVID outbreak and I haven't heard any talk about it.
I'd go with the treble too. Kerry Junior teams are Junior only in name, hence why their record is ridiculous at Junior level.
Did his ban get overturned? Willie Connors is out for them after a double ankle fracture in the hurling against Kerry.
I'm looking at a "Kerry treble" myself. Stacks, Na Gaeil and Gneeveguilla all to win.
Ballina 4/1 to win the Munster Junior Football next weekend , playing Gneeveguilla of Kerry in the Final . Ballina have Tipp Midfielder Steven O`Brien and lots of really good Players all over the Field . Should be a close game !
Any tips for this weekends games?
Plenty matches on quite a discrepancy in prices around!
I can see its pretty quiet here at the minute so not sure whether I will get much of a response but ill post anyway.
Pre lockdown last year I had started to track my handicap bets on intercounty football matches and was doing well albeit over a small sample of games. Its one sport that I find i have better knowledge that others and am a fan of the game so like spending time picking selections. Has anyone here tracked their bets and been profitable over a decent period of time? With handicap betting im very aware that winning streaks should be normal compared to betting horses for example.
I have a starting bank set aside and am going to track my bets starting with the league, ill leave the pre league comps out and keep an eye on how they go.
Compared to other sports the resources for checking stats , injuries, team news are not as widespread. Has anyone recommendations on good news sources or other recommendations on betting on Football? I think betting the handicap is what I feel comfortable doing with my method being to handicap the games before looking at the bookies and betting where there is discrepancies.
Any advice is welcome.
