I saw some pictures of those holy joes - I recognised one of them (GC) from a previous life. He was an idiot then, and by the looks of things, he's an even bigger one now.
As in the prayers ?? wasnt it a bit pointless then having the session, like an going to a AA meeting then going to the pub straight after
Thanks.
That is nasty by them.
There was a demo held on Saturday on Bedford Row, it was a demo against men using violence towards women.
A group of men who usually hold a rosary session on Thomas St moved their meeting to Bedford Row and used their PA to drown out the demo.
Was there someone with a megaphone at Ashling Murphy vigil in order to be disruption?
Sir Harry's Mall has flooded a few times, but that's at a much lower level. I've known several people in the Nicholas Street area for decades and they've never been flooded (being on higher ground).
what's the best place for forklift training?😶
Yes, the whole of Kings' Island is susceptible to flooding. No flood defences have been installed since the "monsoon" of 2014.
It's definitely something I've noticed happens more here than when in other places in Ireland.
man i rocked into penneys in my **** 3 piece and top hat and mother fuckers looking at me weird as well.... it aint right...
I’m sure it does happens in other places I just really noticed it more! For example; went into a Euro Express shop and the security guard very blatantly came over and stood (a few steps) behind me. I was looking for a spare charger chord for my phone so needed to do a bit of looking to get the correct one! That’s actually never happened me before. I put it down entirely to how I was dressed
The idea that all the security in Limerick shops were profiling you and that it never happens in places like Dublin, Kilkenny or wherever is just not realistic. Thinking you needed to dress up a bit to go to a shop in Limerick is definitely something you are misinterpreting and not the case at all. I think you were just noticing it more because for whatever reason you felt uneasy maybe because you are somewhere you are not used to.
Definitely wasn’t. Why would I go the bother of posting it here if I was imagining it?
I think you were imagining things. Security are the same everywhere and watching you is their job
Nope never flooded there is a decent climb from thomond bridge.
2 mates of mine have houses on castle Street and main complaints seem to be lack of outside space and the loss of the odd car wing mirror
Had a good long wander around the Limerick shops yesterday first time ever really - what I could not get over was the security in the shops!!- granted I was very casually dressed (30s male in tracksuit bottom, trainers, t shirt and jacket). Definitely got the sense I was being profiled and watched in some of the stores. Felt bad actually that I hadn’t “dressed up” a bit. Never happens in other places we like Kilkenny or Dublin I’d be more familiar with.
I don't think any part of the city centre by the Shannon floods anymore.
Im mostly looking around the Castle, Church Street etc has a few for sale atm, not interested in that estate to the north of the Island. Has the castle or that area ever flooded?
Interesting info about that flood relief scheme, thanks.
Which part of Kings Island are you looking at. Not sure if all of Kings Island would be affected insurance wise. We can only get insurance without flood protection.
Have a read https://www.limerickpost.ie/2019/03/07/five-years-of-government-inaction-on-limerick-city-flood-defences-condemned/ or do a Google
Does anyone know if King's Island is susceptible to flooding or if the houses there ever get flooded? Or if its hard to get insurance out there because of the rivers?
Loads of them but they're all closed, I hear the off licence is great, then down to the Quays drinking.
Haven't been out in ages. Any good bars on a Monday night in town?
The Crescent today was unreal, worse than rathkeale all the enlish reg vans and cars . Some amount home for the xmas.
Denmark St. the 2 lockers always seem full. I reckon staff are storing stuff or they are broken but the racks next to them are good and I use them too.
Mt. Kennett car park has about 10 lockers and are working.
Howleys Quay is the other one listed on Limerick.ie and is sign posted around town. All gone though cause the security guy said kids were trying to break into them. Wouldn't fill be with a lot of hope having a car in there if the security guy can't you know do security.
The Parkway have outdoor lockers that you pay for through an app
They still have the lockers in the car park on Denmark street but no idea if they are operating.
Lock my bike there the whole time as they have racks as well. I'd say if you told the lads in the office you were leaving in overnight they'd be fine with it
Found €1:20 stuck in the outlet drainage pipe. Still only starting but stops after a few minutes.
Has anyone ever seen any kind of secure bike parking in the city centre like the bike lockers you get in some DART stations or anywhere safe for a bike if you were gone all weekend?
No alert on Irish Water anyway
