Any word on how the Clare v Mayo senior football challenge match went this evening at the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence?
Why would you limit it to Europe?
The 6 Mayo defenders in that team have gotta be the best set of any county in ireland, or even Europe.
It's a conundrum alright. We need to really freshen things up in the squad.
How about COC and ROD in the full forward line and go back to playing a sweeper, maybe King from Knockmore? Put Tommy C, Darren mc Hale and Fergal B in the half forward line.
There's sh1tetalk and then there's next level sh1tetalk.....
You think we shouldn't play both ROD and COC!? Well, I thought you were a WUM previously, now I don't know what to think. Are you afraid we might have too much of a scoring threat or something?
I agree, his loss of scoring threat in recent years is a bit baffling. I think he could make a very good midfielder but Id like to see him get a solid run there, and not just when Dublin are in town.
I certainly think he would be an upgrade on Conor Loftus.
An interesting selection which I pretty much think could deliver Connaught and maybe get to AI final. Personally I would not pick Hennelly, time to move on to alternatives. Another thought is that I do not see COC \ ROD both in the team for me its one or the other. I think COC's absence allowed ROD to shine last year, COC has the experience while ROD has youth. Finally Knockmore have won last 2 County titles so would expect them to have more representation, maybe Reape should be considered for goal
I don't know what the obsession is with playing Diarmuid in the forward line. For me that boat has sailed for him. His scoring return over the past 4 yrs is poor. I put him as a second or third choice midfielder and nothing else.
The game has moved on a bit from packing teams with big lumps of lads.
The one thing we don't really have to worry about is the strength and conditioning. We've been up there with the best of them for some time now in that regard.
That's what I mean. When I hear lightweight, I don't mean afraid to get stuck in. I take the literal meaning that it means someone small in stature.
ROD may be small in terms of the average modern intercounty player. But he will stick his nose in where players of larger build wouldn't.
Even at that, Ryan O'Donoghue might not be that tall, but would you really say he is lightweight? He seems to be well able to handle himself from what i've seen of him!
Really? I wouldn't call Diarmuid O'Connor or Fionn McDonagh lightweight. We have seen Tommy Conroy burst through the Dublin defense, and Aidan Orme is not small. Out of the 6, I would only have ROD as lightweight. But his work ethic and determination to get on the ball makes up for that. He shows no fear.
Good team but the 6 forwards apart from COC are very lightweight.
Wonder what grounds they would have had for appealing it, if any?.
Fk sake
That’s a big blow
Ruan gone for the 1st two games of the league after his sending off in the Ireland.
They some how didn't appeal it.

That's a good team.
People mightnt be too happy keeping Leeroy in the corner back position.Hes one of the greatest wing backs of all time but is just a decent corner back,it's not his favoured position according to himself. We might need him there to plug a gap though and we still have a very good half back line. For whatever reason Horan doesn't seem to rate Eoin O Donoghue,I'd love to see him get more game time.
Fionn has been dogged with injuries since his breakthrough year in 2019,I hope he can get back to the level his was at.Tommy plays in the ff line all day for me and once we have cillian back we'll have some ff line again with Ryan o Donoghue arguably the most in form Mayo player at the moment.
Kevin mac has to start,he's our best half forward for over a decade.
Jason Doherty is back to full fitness now aswell which is great news because our half forward line was our weakest line all last year.
It remains to be seen where Enda Hession will play but he will be a part of big games whather starting or off the bench.
Aiden Orme needs some time in the league and hopefully will take his chance.
There's also another Aidan looking to get on....
We have a serious squad and got a great boost with Oisin staying, not just the fact that's he's staying but that he obviously believes this team are going to do something.
Great to have a bit of optimism back!
Huge boost for Mayo Mullin staying. Thoughts on this line up from an outside perspective when all are fit and available?
Sure why would he leave, they got nothing like the sea stack and Croagh Patrick in Australia. And Australia probably would have deported him anyway for not getting his hair cut.
Great news that he's staying. Fair play to him, always thought he was the type of lad who loved playing with his club and county above anything else.
Maybe he was the person who won the lotto :D
It's more than portwest that got him to stay££££££
What a huge huge boost that it is
Buzzing
