Is the Sportsground open to all sports? I was guessing thats why the IRFU wont fund any Connacht development. The GAA have as much right to use it as Rugby, they just dont.
I only assume its up to Greyhound Ireland who uses it, would depend on the agreement they have with the IRFU
Looks like the are focusing on the league. Disappointing team but good news for Connacht. now its a game they should not be losing.
I thought his bulk would be needed this weekend. Is he on a 1 year deal? Abraham Papal'i must have already checked out he never plays anymore. Is Tietie Tuimauga leaving in the summer aswel?
No. Connacht Rugby and the IGB are long term co-tenants, both have the right to use it but neither is the owner or landlord of the other. IBG don't have the freehold either. GAA don't have any right to use it, nor would they want to even if Pearse was out of action - the pitch is too short.
I misread the article about the freeholder, as that’s the case it’s even more disappointing that the IGB are involved in the new development
Fifita - wasn't specified but would be very surprised if he got more than a year.
Papali'i - don't think he's checked out, he never wants for effort. I think it's pretty clear that he lost the trust of the coaching staff after the third red card.
Tuimauga - I'm almost certain is out of contract in the summer. Guess it's up to him to earn an extension, too early to cast a verdict on him imo.
Papa came on as a sub against Leicester and Munster,. I'm sure we'll see more of him in the coming months.
If Ulster don't offer Jack McGrath another contract, Connacht should try and entice him. He's been unlucky with injury, but has plenty more to give. He's be a great addition for us.
They always were going to. Its one of the biggest/busiest dog tracks and they run fairly well attended meets a few times a week. No way were they not going to be involved
What use would the GAA have for it though. Pearce Stadium is there.
The possibility of matches under lights
Salthill has had floodlights refused a few times
Ah. Yes. That had missed me.
Really good interview with Aki in the IT today, absolutely loves it in Galway, piece reflects very well on him and Connacht.
Obvious reasons?? Did I miss something
I dunno how
Ill admit to Living in a bit of a bubble 😆
Wasps opening the door for a top 4 group finish by Connacht.
Emmm.....
Awesome by Aki
Looked like a very clear penalty before that last try for holding. Sickening defeat but a win next week puts us on twelve which is probably good enough so not catastrophic
scrum was the difference in the end ,you cannot survive constant scrum penalities at the end of a match
Connacht will be hurting from this one. Hopefully they can have an honest look at how they lost it and how Leicester managed to win fair and square. It's sickening to be so close and to lose, but credit to Leicester they stepped up and grabbed the last twenty by the scruff and made it happen.
To go toe-to-toe against Leicester is impressive, but I'm sure they won't feel that way.
Talk about a game of high and lows, would disagree with Ben that there was fuel left in the tank, the players looked knackered at the end
gutted, but we lost that one ourselves,
just too light in the front row, but i wouldnt critise any of our players, mathew Burke etc. all did well,
2nd row is really improving along with the back row.
We just couldnt take the steam out of the game in the last 20, needed 5 mins somewhere,
Leister are very good thou.
Aki let himself down at the end. It was a try, just and no more but still a try. No need for the histrionics even if you're hurting.
I was disappointed with the crowd booing, the second angle showed he was in, by millimetres but still in
Once Bealham went off Connacht really struggled. When the Loosehead had to move to tighthead and kenny back on i thought Connacht would get beat but the hung in there til the end. Connacht subs didnt really add anything positive.
TOH carrying into weise, for the turn over instead of passing, which started the comeback was one of a number of bad calls by TOH. He played well enough but does some crazy things. Porch was also poor maybe fitz should of came on if they were going to kick so much?
GUYS let's see what's happening.
A single BP next week and we're through play-off
+ It's home and away
+ table has bigger teams low, so we may escape Clermont, Montpellier or Exeter
So if we finish 8th it does not really matters
This is just magnificent
bravo, your right!
and to be honest, we could get 2 bp aswell, or even 5
