The family were politically naive to welcome Farage into their ranks since that turned it into a partisan thing in many people's minds, turning lots of mainstream Anglo liberals against them.
They lack the PR slickness of a Varadkar or a Morrison. Their rhetoric was tuned to other Serbians rather than an international audience.
Irish people especially prefer someone who can play upon their feelings by saying the right things and creating all the right emotional resonances regardless of anything else.

Let's be honest if Novak was Irish people would be falling over themselves to support him like the Serbs are. Not saying all Irish would but M.Smith, S.Quinn, M.Lowrey, C.McGregor all had a serious amount of defenders from Ireland/relevant county despite falling foul of the rules/law.

What was not mentioned (perhaps I missed it) and I wasn't aware of it, Novak actually spent two weeks in quarantine before last year's open 🤔

That is true, however it absolutely does not change a thing.
In fact, if Djokovic himself had filled out the form, you might say "oh, he's a global superstar prepping for a big tournament, he's got a lot more important things on his mind".
But if the "mistake" was made by someone whose sole job it is to look after Djokovic's affairs so he can focus on tennis, then the possibility of an honest error becomes even less remote.
Either way, Djokovic must stand or fall on what was submitted to the authorities, regardless of who ticked the box. Unless we actually want to treat rich and famous people differently.

Then why did they welcome Farage with open arms instantly alienating everyone who dislikes him? They obviously don't know, as we do, that he is seen as an opportunist and is unpopular at home.
But it is also the reality that if the agent had ticked the correct box Novak would still be barred from Australia.
There is no answer or scenario where Novak can legally enter Australia once he made those trips

it's an error that's there but Australia didn't make any note of it either in their statement
if you actually think the fact that Djokovic had travelled from Serbia to Spain where he was practicing within 14 days of going to Australia is actually substantive (what does is do /show other than the error?) then that picture doesn't bear out from both those points above
if there was some specific plague going on in Serbia or something yes it would be substantive

I've had an error on my visa going into australia (something on passport didn't match the visa) before and a quick discussion with the mythical border force and it was fine
