Clerical Officer in the Civil Service 2022 | Civil Service - publicjobs.ie
Thanks so much, I actually ended up emailing and they told me last year they went up to OOM 216 for Waterford and OOM 251 for Wexford, so fingers crossed he will get a call before the panel is up.
CO 2022
I've never come across 24 hrs shift before to be honest so can't answer, I assume they would be dealt with separately, what I have seen though is a clause about shift patterns 8-8 7 days a week, this allowed us to utilise staff if needed but it was never enforced, the option was there and they signed up for it so no complaining if we had to use it. Not too sure what it says about hours etc in the candidate booklet but that would be the best place to check
Sorry to ask another question but generally how long is the wait between the expression of interest and the interview?
Last year I got expression of interest in mid February and was offered a start date end April. Was only a few weeks waiting for interview
Thank very much, really appreciate it
Got my email of expression of interview this evening did everyone get one ?
What County did you get it in.
yep received mine too
In my experience it can vary. Here is as summary of how it went for me. Just posting this as others may find it useful. The Boards.ie 2020 clerical officer thread was a great help and source of info to me .
Got an EOI last year around mid August.
Interviewed a few weeks later (early September) . Result of interview 3 or 4 days later.
Notified under consideration for a position about 3/4 weeks later.
Then Clearance process and checks (took 4/5 weeks).
Got assigned a position in early November and finally due to start in next few weeks
Hoping after nearly 2 years since originally applying it will have been worth the wait. Civil service abu :-)
Was this for CO or TCO position? Do you mind me asking what your OOM was.
If you don’t mind me asking what was your oom at the time? Did the the checks cause the delay?
What country did you receive this for 🙈
what county did you receive this for?
After interview OOM was top 10.Yeah the reference checks after interview took longer than expected. Ideally probably should have been closer to 3 weeks but for some I.T hiccups. I then had to give notice then to current employer and PAS were very accommodating in this instance.
Great news for Wexford & Waterford, thanks for sharing it - I got over 50 in both Wexford & Waterford. Fingers crossed & best of luck 🤞
Dublin
Hi everyone, i got 165 in Westmeath, chance of interview maybe?
I am not sure how it works to be honest. I was placed 700s in 2020 panel ( I didn't think Donegal went that high but I knew another person who was OOM 900s) and i was 190s on the TCO panel in 2019. Pretty sure I answered about the same. I never got a call.
I got 165 for Westmeath so will try to let you know if/when I hear anything
Sorry my mistake I worded the question incorrectly, the clerical officers at the ports are on shifts, some starting at 12 am, not ideal for families, if offered this role, anyone know if you must take it
What does “A” category mean and how do i find this? Also served as a TCO And placed in 170’s
Its in your feedback link in your results message, for Category A I think you had to score 5520 or higher
I actually have no idea how they would handle or fill these posts to be honest, if theres nothing in the booklet about shifts I imagine it may be a separate recruitment exercise but could be wrong. One of those cross that bridge when you come to it, there can't be too many compared to other roles for COs in the CS
Hi there
I know a number of Co's in Dublin Port and they're not on shift work.
They were placed on the last CO campaign / competition.
They're in the office and do office hours.
Maybe it depends on what terminal you're placed in, I'd also imagine PAS would tell you if it's shift work.
As a premium ( shift so its basic wage plus 25%) post what they usually so is one of two things 1) they run a stand alone competition or 2) PAS will send you an email inviting you to Express an Interest in this post.
I am open to correction but in my experience premium posts have never been offered straight away ( with out an EOI) for a general CO competition.
So in short it is very very unlikely you will be offered this post without Expressing an interest in it
That's amazing well done, let us know when you get called for interview and best of luck 🤞
Hi guys,
I emailed public jobs and asked them after the interview you will get a new OOM to confirm this is true. However I received this email back.
Hi ,
Thank you for your email.
If you are successful at the interview stage, you will retain your order of merit.
The interview is pass/fail, candidates are not graded and given a new number.
Please note that the number of candidates reached on the order of merit will ultimately be dependent on the number of vacancies that arise, and the above is for illustrative purposes only.
Unfortunately, we cannot say what order of merit we will reach on any panel, and we cannot predict how quickly the panel will move.
Kind regards,
