I went ahead and gave Premium a spin last night, it really is phenomenal. I'd typically go for mid range cards so it's something of a unique experience to be able to open the graphic settings of a game, lash everything up to the max and the game runs butter smooth 😀
Any way to add Origin to geforce now?
Cant justify graphics cards prices and at 99.00 a year the premium version means I could realistically get away with geforce now for a couple of years before Id need to upgrade. Already have decent broadband that works fine with stadia.
You can't connect to/sync an Origin library as per Ubisoft, Epic or Steam.
However, there are some games in the catalog where 'Origin' is a store option to connect to on an Ad-hoc basis:
The whole library system on Geforce Now really needs work, especially if your using it on Nvidia Shield.
The library needs work all right, as for the game selection, as much as I'd like to blame Nvidia for being the greedy one (and they usually are) it's the developers who won't let their games on the service as it might be on another (stadia, xcloud etc.) and they are getting paid to keep it exclusive.
Its not even the amount of compatible games that I have an issue with, there does not seem to be a way of viewing all compatible games in the one place.. maybe im doing something wrong mind you. The performace for me on the Nvidea Shied Pro blows away the performance on my PC. Sorry if this is going off thread.
yeah the 3080 tier definitely destroys my 1080ti pc, must get a native 1440p monitor to replace my 4k monitor to play 1440p 120hz, downscaling from 4k looks ass.
So my corsair rm750x PSU came with 2 x 8 pin and 2 x 6+2 leads. the 8 pins are marked CPU on the side and the 6+2's are labeled PCI.
Can i use one of the CPU leads for powering my EVGA 3080 that's arriving tomorrow? im sure the description online said there was 4 x 6+2 leads but there aint.
No, don't try it. The pin outs are different.

Quite irritated it said four 6+2's when it was two 8's two 6+2's in that case.
I've read through the manual, there's two cables provided with it. So you could just obtain another cable, they are sold separately.
Ya the manual says 2 CPU and 2 PCI but the description online says 4 PCI. ah well.

As someone who works in the business you're looking at around mid 2023 before prices start to drop again. Between the panama canal incident and covid the whole supply chain is basically fucked until next year.

I would be really interested to see what the Arc A380 ends up being. GTX3050 level performance isn't entirely unimpressive if the price is right.
These cards are dropping in price nearly every day now. 3080s for a hair over 1000 EUR on the best German sites.
Glad I waited a bit to build. Only problem is, I spent the pc money, so have to wait even longer now. By then, maybe they will go even lower!
Although at that point maybe I should just hold out until the 4000 series
So, my son's GPU died about a month ago. Motherboard showing a code that means "no GPU installed", so I replaced it with the one from my PC, and it works. This is an MSI 3090, acquired at launch from Scan. Opened an RMA with them, and patiently waited three weeks until they were able to arrange for the shipment to be collected (damn you, Brexit!). Took about a week in transit (damn you, Brexit!), so it finally arrived at Scan warehouse on Tuesday. Yesterday, they tested it, labeled it as "lemon", and now... instead of replacement, they are sending it to MSI for repair. They say that's MSI policy for warranty.
I am speechless. Not only did it take a month for the GPU to be shipped and diagnosed, sounds like another month (at least), to get it fixed by MSI. Meanwhile, my PC is sitting gutted on my desk, while I'm only able to play on XBox :(
Sorry for venting. Was curious if someone else had similar experience.
I don't know how it can help you, but what is the MSI's policy it's between themselves and none of your business. I would be using the chargeback word to get them to offer a more reasonable resolution.
That sounds normal to me. Unfortunately the shipping part is painful but as you said that's more logistical due to Brexit and whatever else. It sounds otherwise like it's progressing OK.
It would be pretty normal procedure for any retailer to send it for repair really.
It's anything but normal to wait 2 months or more.
