Hi all,
Apologies if this is a silly question as I’m new to this!
Placed within the top 10 for both my chosen counties and received an expression of interest for interview email today.
Could anyone advise me as to the average time it takes for a position to arrive after being placed on a panel?
I am in my final year of college and due to finish end of April and will only be available from then on so I am anxious that the timings won’t work in my favour if and when a position becomes available!
Thanks in advance! 😊
Thats great are you Cork also?
You will have plenty of time. It will be a few months by the time interviews are over, results etc. And they will normally with you 4-6weeks to give notice, sort your affairs etc.
For what county? Also if you don’t mind me asking what was your OOM. Was this email inviting you to attend the interview via zoom? Or am I wrong
Hi does anyone have any idea how many were placed in Donegal on the last panel?
I got placed in 180s and scored in the A category. Not really sure how the scoring goes, I assume you score higher if you have ever had a TCO role. I suppose we will wait and see but cant imagine I will hear anything.
Hi
I was just looking through my application that i applied with on the opening of the competition. I see i hit both clerical officer and also clerical officer irish stream line but the irish stream line would have been in error. Would this effect my application. Would it have impacted my oom position any feed back on this would be greatly appreciated thanks.
Why don’t you email info@publicjobs.ie and mention this to them. I doubt it would be much harm
Irish stream will be a separate interview so you could email them now or just turn down the interview when it’s offered
Thank you! no it’s for Cavan 😊
The advice I was given when completing stage 1 of the campaign was answer the questions they way you think they would want you to answer. They are big on team work and most of the questions would all fall under the 4 main competencies. I got my results in May, had interview in September by Zoom, had my new batch number the same day as the interview. Got an expression of interest in December, my Garda clearance was back within a few days and started in February. Depending on how your interviews goes or if people withdraw from the panel you might get called quicker. Hope this helps.
Thats moving quick I am early thirties for cavan is the interview over zoom
Hi all, I was just wondering how does OOM work after the interview?
For example if you are OOM 80 on the questionnaire results and they call batch 0-100. Is the panel after the interview based on the questionnaire or the interview results?
Thanks :)
You will get a new oom after your interview which is based purely on the interview and they will offer positions in order then
Sorry I seem to be confused with what you just said @crinkley
I applied for TCO and done the questionnaire & Interview however I was informed that i will be retaining my order of merit from the Questionnaire.
Is this not the same procedure as the permanent CO?
it’s just that you mentioned I will be getting a new OOM.
could you please explain this to me. Sorry I’m new to this procedure with the PAS.
TAI
Your oom from your questionnaire determines when you will get called to an interview. You will then be scored on your interview and receive an oom for a panel and they then take people off the panel for jobs
I assume it’s your score that transferred over and not your oom as someone can score higher than you when they take the questionnaire after you
Oh I never knew this. So basically your saying you get 2 numbers. One after questionnaire and then an updated one after the interview for the civil service as a CO?
Did this apply to you?
Yeah that’s how it works so for my current job my first oom was 39 and after my interview it was 4
Hey my boyfriend got placed 173 for Wexford and 180 for Waterford, hoping he will get called for interview. Anyone know how many places either of these counties went up to?
And do you mind me asking are you with hse or civil service
thanks so much for your help
Hey sorry if it's a stupid question but where can I see the candidate booklet? TIA
Here you go....
Thanks so much
After the first batch interviews (eg 0 to 100) are done and once those people get positions … is it only than they move on to interview for batch 2?
Hse was slightly different as there was just an interview with an oom after that but I was going for a specialised role with 2 vacancies. But the example above is how it worked in the CS
They tend to invite people for interview before everyone comes off the panel from the previous batch so there’s always a supply for depts to take from
Donegal Campaign here , ranked 177 in oom , i think i read something about if youve been a TCO you do not need to sit an interview or is that just for tco panel not permanent? I was under the impression i wouldnt need to do an interview, also anyone any idea how likely i am to be called up at all
Anyone know would there be many jobs in Kildare region? I got oom of 522 for Kildare and 2100 for Dublin. Thanks
