Anyone know what is his medical exception?
Equating Djokovic with rapists
Now your mask has really slipped.
Pure troll effort
Pathetic stuff.
His conduct in this thread has been disgraceful.
Poor enough effort that. Are there parallels between people who find rape documentaries interesting and rapists who watch documentaries?
The only real common theme being documentaries. Anyone can act the bollox with how they word something. Its not that difficult.
I think almost all of the West has lost all perspective when it comes to covid. Just stop and think about this for a second: a perfectly healthy man, in peak physical condition, has somehow made world news for wanting to play in a tennis tournament because of a virus that has a 99.9% survival rate for the vast majority of the population. I have for a long time now believed that the two most frightening words in the world at present are 'stay safe'. I get a shiver down my spine whenever I hear them.
As I said earlier. Humankind has revealed itself to be much nastier than the virus these last two years.
If that's what you took from his post, then you have issues with comprehension.
Oh I know exactly what he was at.
So did other posters here.
Not a great post to go standing up for
Absolutely. If you examine 'stay safe' what it actually means is 'stay away from others', 'don't hug', 'don't kiss', 'don't sing' (was illegal to sing in some countries for a while, believe it or not), 'obey the yellow signs', 'vaccine passes are for your own safety' etc.
I've gone a bit off topic, but I believe the whole Djokovic affair to be completely over the top.
I'm thinking the same thing. Being the number 1 tennis player in the world is just a front he puts on to hide his true intentions
Even he had genuinely had Covid on Dec 16th, it's not a valid reason for getting into Australia. He was clearly using this as his way of trying to enter (based on the conversation with Border Police). He obviously had no way of getting a medical exemption and didn't apply for one by the Dec 10th cut-off by Tennis Australia but then conveniently got Covid thinking this was a way of circumventing the rules.
completely disproportionate to any risk. its collective insanity what is going on. these threads will make for bizarre reading in a couple of years.
he has been at it all day. he does it well to be fair to him. he walks right on the edge of the line the whole time. deliberately inflammatory. always trying to. escalate and every post laced with condescension or back handed smart arsery.
You can see why a lot of Australians are very annoyed with him. It looks for all the world like he is trying to pull a fast one (even using the Australian courts system) in order to get to play in the Open without being vaccinated.
Someone has never watched Border Security Australia's Front Line they take all matters seriously
If you stopped every premier league player from playing if they were unvaccinated you would probably crash the UK economy. It would take some serious mental acrobatics to think the man is purposely trying to brew up some kind of controversy.
This thread looks like its fun
How on earth would stopping unvaccinated footballers from playing in premier League crash the UK economy? Hahaha. Not a move I'd be in favour of at all but eh I think they'd be okay.
Nothing to do with individual risk. It's just that Australian immigration rules have been incredibly strict since the pandemic commenced. Why should Djokovic get a free pass on this when an ordinary bloke from Sydney or Melbourne can't? Australian public opinion appears to be against him on this and even many Aussie sports journalists have criticised him.
If only Djokovic had had a half-cooked snake and a tiger-skin jockstrap in his bag and this whole thing would have been a lot more straightforward for them but he didn't and the Aussies made a complete balls of it.
Yes, they're crazily strict, to the point that many Australians had trouble getting home. I think that's why it hasn't played well there. Many Australians saw a guy being allowed to play by different rules because he was good at a sport. If he did have a genuine exemption and it was in line with the rules we plebs have to follow there shouldn't be an issue. If he was granted an exemption just because of who he is it's the Australian govt. who should be taking the heat here. A tennis star with some mad beliefs isn't the real issue.
These comments sum up the case well...
"The court case that Djokovic won was over procedures ie the government said they would give him until 8.30 am to provide info but then dishonorably reneged and cancelled his VISA at around 7.45 am. If they had left it until 8.30 his VISA would have been cancelled and he and his entourage would be long departed from Australia by now.
From the evidence provided it was clear (rightly or wrongly) that he was not eligible for a VISA under commonwealth rules - ie he was not double vaxxed and did not have a severe medical condition preventing him from getting vaxxed."
status, wealth, notoriety and fame have simply always opened locked doors… here is just another example….
funny how the Australians have always had strict policy on entering the country, who can enter, the rules that are to be abided by etc…
“You must be of good character to visit or live in Australia. This means you must pass the character test, and remain of good character.”
“You will not be admitted if you could ..
basically if you are a famous sports person the rules don’t apply to you… comes as no surprise on looking that the government and PM there are decidedly right of centre…
one of the hallmarks of right wing organisations, people, political or otherwise is that they systematically and repeatedly fail to live up to the standards in life themselves which they demand from others…
Markus, bus driver, unvaccinated from Dubrovnik would be told to sling his hook.
There is a lot more to this saga than a couple of lines bow-tied up will summarise

This is a clear case where a VIP is getting preferential treatment to the ordinary man with the same laws and rules in play for both.
He should still be kicked out.
Cruelty never goes away, it’s only ever restrained.
Media reporting that the QR code on Novaks test result from Dec 16 was “not positive”. It’s since been changed to positive.
Additionally they’re reporting that on his travel entry form he declared he hadn’t travelled within 14 days of arrival in Australia. Looks like he had in fact travelled between Spain and Belgrade.
Fantasies? Der Spiegel and a New York times reporter saying that his QR code was returning a negative test yesterday HMMMMMMM.
Shouldn't this be in a conspiracy theory forum?
There is no proof he had it other than the certificate saying he had it. If you doubt the cert then you are really doubting all certs from Serbia as you are saying an official cert from Serbia can't be trusted. That would be interesting if the Australians went down that route.
Would an anti-vaxxer organise a vaccine drive?
Why should it?
He had covid on the 16th, he turned up at multiple events on the 17th and 18th. Clearly there is something to it given how quickly his dad and brother (I am guessing) shutdown their press conference when asked about it yesterday. He also declared he hadn't travelled for 14 days before his arrival..which doesn't seem to be true because he flew between two countries...
