Today FM management are an absolute disaster. I mean almost beyond description how bad it is and how utterly deaf to listeners wants the controllers and directors are. It's tantamount to sabotage.
D'Arcy was horrendous. Lazy radio. Bad diction and overcompensation for his regional accent. Unoriginal and uninspiring. Grossly overpromoted to save money. A total narcissist to boot. Notwithstanding the route that the Today FM management is taking, bringing in Foley to replace D'Arcy isn't original but its probably wise.

The only change seems to be an EXTRA HOUR OF PENIS as Paulas original slot is cut to one hour and added to Ians show.
So TodayFM add an extra hour of penis and you get offended they are firing presenters with penis.

I am really amazed that people really have believed that over the years. Back when M O Connell tweeted honestly about being fired, posters here were taken aback as if no radio presenter had ever been axed before.
I can’t believe Dempsey got his show extended, it’s a really tired and boring show now. And don’t get me started on his stupid Sky ad’s. 🤬🤬🤬
I'm also amazed that people don't see the gender connection here, there was only one vacancy on the schedule lunchtime but simply replacing Ronan with Foley would cause a twitter backlash about no female presenter 7/7, so they had to tinker with things so that they'd be no loss of a female presenter

There must be at least four, maybe five, young female presenters on daytime radio and I can't tell any of them apart until they say their name at some point.

The only female presenter I can tell apart, is Alison Curtis and even she is starting to lose the Canadian accent and beginning to sound like the other Irish female Today FM presenters.

Seems foolish to bring Ian Dempsey's show on earlier for almost zero available audience, if anything I'd have added the hour on from 9-10 and run Dermot & Dave from 10-1.
It's not about getting more audience, it's about reducing costs. By getting Dempsey to do the extra hour, they are effectively saving 2hrs cost of another dj.

I wonder if the cost/benefit idea of overnight presenters ever came up before they axed early breakfast. Bauer's UK stations Kiss and Absolute have presenters on all through the night and Hits Radio and Magic are only without a presenter from 1-4am so there must be a benefit to having overnights running in the UK. Although maybe the JNLRs show there's not enough listeners available at that time to attract advertisers.
