Anyone know what is his medical exception?
Nice sidestep. I didn't say that they were working in the HSE.
I don't remember belittling anybody working in the HSE here. You must be mistaken.
Back in 2020 when you were engaged in a discussion with another poster on one of the Covid threads, you belittled them referring to your 6 figure salary and having a position with a lot of responsibility within the HSE, probably more important than whatever they did. Involved on the pharmacy side of things rather than slicing people open if I remember correctly. Happy to be corrected and apologise if I'm mixing you up with another Dazzler.
Why are you supporting this particular economic migrant? You normally can't stand them, particularly when they're in a boat in the English Channel. But of course, Djokovic is rich and white. Headline should read "Racist opportunist welcomed by family of Serbian nationalists."
Kyrgios just announced that he has Covid actually
If the Australians double-down now and ban him for 3 years that would be some roll of the dice on their part
I think that they are pressuring Djokovic behind the scenes - "Listen leave now "voluntarily" and we won't have to ban you for 3 years"
That PM they have Scott Morrison is slimier than Leo Varadkar after a bath in treacle so who knows what will happen. He will be purely guided by self-interest.
This will all add a chapter to Novaks best selling book when he's retired. I also commend Murray and Kyrios for speaking out about this, and how it's bad for Tennis, especially Kyrios who has been very critical of Novak in the past but even he can see his own government have fked up badly.
I agree its highly unlikely he didn't know before the event on the 18th. I think there's a good chance he didn't have the results before the event on the 17th.
situational architectural appreciation. its a medical condition.
Fair enough, it seems highly unlikely that he wasn't notified before then to be fair. I think most would agree on that
Had to laugh at big Nige describing the accommodation Djokovic was staying in as being like a run down prison 😂😂
He'd be calling it a 5 star hotel if it was being used to house asylum seekers
And if he knew he was positive before that it makes him a bad person. I haven't said otherwise.
The noose is tightening.
We are all in the same boat Josip. I don't think I'm anymore important in the HSE than anybody else. If I was to die, my place would be quickly filled. I mist commend all the front line workers for their stoic efforts in the last two years. I'm unsure where I said I was more important than anybody else. Care to refresh my memory?
Life advice from a Michael Bay film? That explains a lot....
winners **** the prom queen.
I think he'll play alright but Brand Djokovic which was always a bit tarnished, has taken a great big dent. I was an admirer of Djok several years ago but I've seen him in recent tournaments getting involved in very dislikable gamesmanship against younger up and coming talent. He's a bully boy.
All the courts really ruled is that the government didn't follow their own procedures as Border Force gave him a certain amount of time and then changed it. They didn't make any ruling on pandemic rules.
But he went out the 18th
Unless you've got quite an important job in the HSE, a more important job than most of the posters on here (according to him), then there the similarities between you and the Dazzler end I'm afraid.
Exactly, and Martyring Novak has highlighted so many ongoing pre and post pandemic hypocrisies.
When Trump banned flights from China and beyond he was racist.
Once Biden gets in banning travel from jurisdictions is all the rage. The cool kids do it now.
See South Africa becoming persona non grata for omicron.
Two years of playing the man not the ball laid bare for all to see.
Think they had a 4 hour window to keep him in detention as part of this initial visa row, if they were to appeal judgement. They haven't used that so Djokovic is now free to leve detention and go about Australia.
But the Imigration Minister still has the power to over-ride any visa if he deems there's an exceptional risk presented by an individual. Which would be a bitch of thing to activate after said individual has been out and about freely by then, unless he was to do something absolutely outrageous.
Also presents the issue, that if he is banned by the Minister, then it's an automatic 3 year ban - so no appearance at Australian open for next 3 years either. Which is a bit of a nuclear option when it comes to world number 1.
Australian politcians have absolutely messed this up, and dug themselves into a huge hole. And with the Open due to start on the 19th, and run for 2 weeks, regardless of what they do this story will run and run. Either Djokovic's appearances at the Open will create even more of a media circus, or his absence will be mentioned again and again as tournament runs
In all seriousness, as much we are on different signs of the coin here. I hope you are well and symptoms aren't too bad.
I was told 10 days by Occ Health. You’d probably know better though.
I hope Djockovic can play in the AO.
Saw a comment elsewhere that it's very standard procedure for someone (like asylum seekers) to be booted out in Australia by the minister even if they get a result in a judicial review
but of course here with absolutely massive worldwide attention on this and the fact that he would apparently have to be booted out for 3 years, how "Democratic" would Australia look?
So even if you still have symptoms you are sent back to work after 7 days? That seems risky.
Edited, as my one line was unnecessarily narky. My main point is you seem to be making a lot of assumption based on not a lot of information. Djokovic test result stamped at 20:19, without actually knowing the serbian notification system you assume he got the result that evening. Fandymo saying that he is in 10 day isolation, you assume that he is unvaccinated.
its possible that Djokovic got the result that evening and still went out the next day, this would make him a terrible person. It's also possible that he got a random PCR test (so no isolation necessary) and only got the results on the 17th after being at that event.
Interesting that self-admitted 'big royalist' Nigel Farage is berating the use of 'arbitrary power' over the 'rule of law' in Australia... yet I haven't seen him out campaigning that the Queen's right to pardon crimes is revoked? Or her immunity from being prosecuted? Hmm...
It is a fair point that the lines between judiciary and government should not be allowed to be blurred or compromised.
A sound point is a sound point regardless of messenger.
Why different rules? Who ever said there were different rules?
No, have my 2 AZ shots. Ironically got my text about the booster the same day I got my HSE done text about my positive PCR result.
It's different for health care workers. 7 days self isolation, then back to work. With you know 1 in 6 health care staff off this week due to covid.
