€19 for Galahad! That's just embarrassing. I dont drink it but for the love of jaysus!!
agree, some good stuff on there
Yeh I don't think you would just order 1 bottle or 1 slab tbh. Delivery is 14 quid regardless of the quantity of your order. If it gets through I will order 4 or 5 slabs next time around.
gordons gin on there is only 14 euros. delivery can be pricey though
Faxe lager on there is very good
Just ordered a couple of slabs off mybooze.eu
Bitburger 500 ml x 24
Krombacher 500ml x 24
80 including delivery. The Krombacher in Ireland works out as €74.16 here in tesco for 24x500ml.
Will keep yis up to date on how I get on.
it doesnt matter if its 'gank' , its the price difference.
McGuigan usually sells at "half price" so the 11.99 is just a temporary price until it's discounted again. Personally I think it's gank.
I agree with the poster who mentioned sampling rather than just filling the boot with the cheapest stuff.
Yeh. What i wouldsay is try to pick up the imported lagers. Some of the stuff brewed in the uk is chronic.
You are right there are bargains in NI.
This thread has been going for years and what we do is exactly what you have done in your post.
We put up the Booze deals and if people want to buy them they do so.
It's that simple.
I would advise anyone going to buy in NI to do a "sample trip" the first time.
Some of the brands are unfamiliar and others are of different specification.
The last thing you want is to buy a large stock of something you don't enjoy drinking.
Having checked their website, they (Sainsbury) have own brand vodka for £10 (€12). MUP is €21.
Own brand whiskey at £10.80 (€13). MUP is €22.
Own brand gin at £10.30 (€12.35). MUP is €21.
A plethora of white/red wines from £3.65 to £4.85. MUP will be €7.50+.
I've never tried any of these, but I suspect most of them will be at least adequate (other than to that weird poster who seemed to regard everything he didn't personally like as 'cheap piss').
It's the nature of MUP that clearly the biggest savings will be made at the cheaper end of the market, so I guess it will be up to the people who travel North to decide whether they want to make small savings on the higher end stuff or huge savings on products which might need a leap of faith.
€11.99 in Supervalu. or 72 euros for 6
On amazon uk, free delivery to newry, 6 for £30 or 36 euros
Not recommending this wine but using it as an example. A massive saving of 36 euros or 2 for 1.
depends when you go, it was a lot cheaper pre christmas when the wine offers were on. and spirits in general were cheaper except gordons london dry gin for some reason. That was dirt cheap in the south, not now though.
Here's a EU based "beer club". You pay €100 a year and get access to cheap cans. Not very cheap if you factor in shipping and the €100 fee. THese ones are the cheapest. Somebody mentioned it a few pages back: Lager-Egerer Super Lager-24 x 500 mL (kioskzero.com)
Seems to be the same crowd as the MyBooze EU site.
That was in centra,i believe.I said it on here on the day, they seemed to have tonnes of stock!
there was some discussion here on it:
I find it hard to believe he got 500 cans of cheap Guinness on the Eve of MUP. On that day Tesco had already increased all their prices and many supermarkets were depleted of stocks as evidenced in this thread.
Another punter really cutting back-MUP really working🤔🤔🤔???.NOT!
I bet a few here can beat that 🙂
Lads,
Has anyone been successful getting a mybooze.eu delivery to their house?
Are there any other sites can be used without customs issues?
Try using a tall pint glass like peroni , guinness glasses are useless for lager
Declan Lynch has a critical commentary in today’s Sindo. Claims to have written more about alcohol and other addictions than probably anyone else in Ireland.
I think he has a good point when he says the “experts” don’t understand the problem drinkers. He quotes a recovering alcoholic who went to hundreds of AA meetings and never heard anyone say they gave up when it got too expensive.
I checked the website and there are Booze deals like this one -
tps://www.sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/product/heineken-moretti-amstel-sol/heineken-lager-15x440ml
Heineken 5% for £1.06 per 500ml.
MUP price for 5% beer is €1.98 per 500ml.
Even with the exchange rate you are looking at a saving of about €65 if you pick up 114 cans.
It's the local supermarket for many across the border.
Check their website, very little in the way of "bargains" on alcohol and in many cases it's more expensive than the south.
Same prices for Joe public in hartigans on leeson street
Whatever, the cans should still not spoil. I’ve kept slabs indoors for a lot longer than that without issue.
Depends on a number of factors, including where the thermostat is located.
Gas isn't it!🍺😂
Does Lager (in general) really go flat that quickly?
complain to them, I had a rep pick up drink from me before, I was more than reimbursed, several bottles and glasses and other stuff.
They would probably want to examine it to see what went wrong.
