Even before the Kendellen try i was thinking that there was no way Ulster could be happy with this result.
Conditions were awful. The handling errors were huge. There was a reason both teams weren’t going thru the hands. It wasn’t great at times, but nowhere near as bad as last week, say.
Great win in the end in what we’re hard conditions made worse by the red card and the early try conceded.
some good performances, Casey had a good game imo. Would nearly be better to get a coach in now and build from there.
Good to see this place hasn't changed a bit. Same old bitterness after we managed to get a result. No Munster supporter is under any illusions about the changes which need to be made but I'd say there's a fair few disappointed "neutrals" here tonight.
The same dreadful team beat your team at home a few games ago
It was a terrible game. Great effort put in but no ambition showed from either side to actually exploit space, of which there was plenty, apart from the obvious overlap Casey passed into.
Hard to believe that these Ulster players are full time paid professionals and even more incredible to believe that Billy Burns and Rob Herring hold international caps. A complete and total embarrassment.
McFarland can be furious all he wants but he sent that team out to play that dross.
That was mortifying. I am embarrassed.
The aspiration was to win the game.
That got very hard to do losing POM before Ko, conceding a stupid archer penalty that gave ulster a 7 point lead, then the red card and still turning that around.
Yeah, he was the best 9 on the pitch tonight
It was a brilliant rugby match in sh1tty weather conditions
Do you actually like rugby, as in, the sport
I'd say this even if munster lost
It's not just one loss though. It's been years of Munster consistently underperforming relative to the strength of their squad. They've wasted De Allende and their back three.
Last weekend was just one of the most obvious demonstrations of Munsters lack of ambition and ideas.
Ulster should be kicking themselves after that. Brainless second half.
He's already leaving. Try to keep up
Does McFarland take some of the blame though for the way Ulster played in the second half?
Ulster didn't play to win, they played not to lose.
They had a man advantage, but instead of trying to expose Munster with numbers, they boxkicked everything.
McFarland is like the reverse JVG. Whereas JVG is criticised regardless of pulling results out of the bag, whereas people seem to highly rate McFarland despite Awec seemingly posting "Ulster are useless things need to change" atleast once a month.
The reaction to a loss last week was embarrassing. Behaving like english media calling for coaches to be fired is sad when its after one loss and the level of disruption is massive.
Tonight is a good win, and the next two weekends are massive.
Yes there are aspects of our game that could improve, but its not as far off as many make out.
If that's Munster fans' aspirations, than fair enough.
Great result for Munster's rivals because had they lost that I reckon JVG would have been sent packing.
Low quality game from two poor sides on the night. Munster showed a lot of grit to dig themselves out of that hole.
Ulster were all kinds of shite tonight. McFarland will be furious.
Burns is **** and needs sent packing.
Yep, pretty sure.
An apology for what?
Does this result change the fact that Van Graan is a spoofer?
Leave the glue down. Casey had a good game.
The last two weeks have not been a good ad for the URC.
Ulster were dreadful. I don't think they can persist with Burns much longer.
At one point ulster had it on half way and nobody would show for Doak for three consecutive phases, was bizarre to watch they looked gassed.
That's 2 weeks in a row Casey was dreadfully slow. On the positives Haley did some job covering the backline with Zebo gone after 15 minutes
Yess go on Munster
Not the best of performances overall but been down to 14 men and grinding the win was impressive
Best piece of play we’ve put together for 2 games, good try that. Doing well to dig it out considering the circumstances.
A man and 7 points down and they won the game.
Heaslip can shove that up his hole.
Munsters coaches deserve no praise for that as the same issues that have dogged Munster for a long time were still evident this evening.
This was all in the players attitude.
