Nice one mate, great news after waiting that long. If my medical goes through I hope to get on March too 🤞🏻
Hooefully you hear soon and don't have any issues
Did you have to go for an interview with vetting panel or anything that’s a long time do you know what held it up at all?
Nah no interview or indication as to the reason for the long wait, it's here now so that's all that matters
Anyone else awaiting medical result. I had mine last week. Not sure whether to expect result this week due to Xmas.
Medical result through today and all good. Was so worried about it after the nurse said about the eyesight. Just the SMT result and then I’m appointable. So happy to finally being near the end of the process, it’s been long to say the least 😂
Got my medical pass back today, just waiting on SMT result then I'll be appointable.
How long did everyone's SMT results take?
has anyone seen this?
Thoughts?
I think it means they will not be able to recruit at a level to maintain officer numbers compared to the number retiring etc. Recruitment will still run and new officers will always be needed but just not as frequently as they’d like
Got my SMT back, now fully appointable. Excellent Xmas present.
When did you do it? I did mine two weeks ago and still haven't heard anything.
Same here just today and buzzing. Perhaps see you in March/April.. should we expect an email confirming all is done and what happens next or just wait for the phone call with start date?
Now you just wait...
Did mine start of last week. Got my medical result back on Tuesday and SMT today.
Got my smt back today too so fully appointable and ready for the call. A great Christmas pressie to get it all over the line.
well done to all who also got theirs today.
what intake do you think we will get into? March?
Congrats! I’d say it will be end of Jan for the call and more than likely starting March by the way things have went previously
Hi guys, hope everyone had a good Christmas. I’m due to start the college within the next few months, at long last! Anyone have any idea of any resources i.e textbooks, etc that would help to prepare for the college?
For those who opt to stay in GV for the duration of being a student officer, are meals provided to you or do you need to provide your own meals?
Happy New year all. Are there many on here that are appointable and hoping for the March course.
Hoping and hoping some more
Yep me please haha
im in the same position 7 weeks now from I passed PCA.
It was about 10 weeks before I got my medical date through, which was another month from that. Just to give you guys an idea on times.
You don't need any textbooks. A diary/planner is useful, as is suitable stationery. Keep on top of your fitness between now and starting.
There is a canteen that provides meals at breakfast, lunch and dinner at your own expense, and fridges and kitchen facilities so you can bring in and prepare your own meals.
Thanks for that info MrChew! Is there a gym, with all equipment or just basic equipment, on site to train at? Or do you need to find one in the area?
The gym is probably closed on account of covid. Generally, you don't need gym equipment to complete your weekly workouts. Wait until you get there to assess if you need anything additional.
Help needed folks. Due to start GV next month but just had a letter through from police in Wales to say I was caught speeding. 85 in a 70 zone. First time speeding so no previous points or fines for anything driving related. Does this mess up me starting? They havnt said what is happening with it yet as have to complete and return a form to say I was driving. Any help appreciated
