Oh id really like that avensis
Im an avensis daily diesel driver and the 2.0 petrol is a car id like a test drive in. Nice shiny calipers behind those wheels. Seems to be well looked after.
Wonder does the 2.0 petrol drive well
Good find
Sol with leather pack and all.
dunno if I’d give that for one, but a noble steed nonetheless. Looks to need a headlight.
They really need a chunkier tyre on them than standard, the 17s just look wrong with such low profile tyres.
@colm_mcm to the bangernomics front desk please. Nice looking 2.0 SOL 'venny with short test, €1350. Expensive but it looks good in that colour with those wheels.
Man! That is one ugly boat for a 2009.
Better bet than an Insignia!
Fair enough, but I would think you would be the exception to this rule - it's certainly isn't common.
In any case, well done.
When I sold my last car back in march 2020 I put up exactly what it'd failed (right down to the emission reading) early NCT (still had three months left) on in the add. Dunno if it did me any favours in selling it but I wasn't in any particular rush and would rather not try and pull the wool over people's eyes and lie about the car.
re: corolla - asking for an NCT fail sheet at this price point isn't going to happen. With any car, not just this one.
Was thinking the same but put the reg in the NCT checker there and it was still coming up as the 31st of Jan, if it had gone in already it'd probably say the date it needs to be retested by or it has to go back in for full would that be right?
Wish the NCT just provided the same information as MOT, you'd think it's appropriate for everyone to know roadworthiness of a car.
Doesn't mention number of owners, so probably David Vansevic?
Wd40 or some Goo Stuff Remover should be tried.
But Superglue? On a dashboard??
Must be very religious.
A pair of nice SAAB's up there, the saloon looks to be especially good value with the long NCT.
That Corolla has been to the NCT I'd say. It's due on Jan 31st. Owner may have decided to cut their losses and run. If they have been then putting the NCT fail sheet up online would help.
What numb nuts would glue toy figures to top of dash.
That’s a Luna too. Quite rare in a diesel due to being Avensis money.
Long nct, cheap tax at 200e
KIA RIO 2009 1.5 CRDI NEW NCT 11/22
2008 Saab 9-5
A post 2008 wagon for diesel haters.
Plenty of tax and nct
Chevrolet Lacetti, 2009
No mention of tax. Really nice tho. I certainly would.
Saab 9-5 2.0t Auto Estate
Toyota Corolla 2008 D4D 1.4 Diesel
Short on nct
Don't live too far from you. I see the Stilo around regularly. Best of luck from the Volvo.
T.
That’s lovely! I had a 2002 model with the same engine. Bought for €1500 back in 2016. They’re getting rare now. Mine had full service history and two owners also. The water pump broke and the engine was toast at 180k miles. Mine had the WP and TB changed at 140k by previous owner. My mechanic told me that a cheaper WP had be widely used and was resulting in the end of a lot of that volvo engine. I replaced it with 2010 MK3 1.6d, while costing 1/2 as much to run in terms of fuel and road tax, isn’t a patch on that Mk 2 in terms of interior build quality. Well ware and I hope you get many years from it!
My new winter smoker! Picked it up a few weeks back at Merlin for €1100 with 200k kms, 2 owners and full service history. Fantastic car, fixed a few minor issues and now drives superbly - it was very well maintained. Only drawback is thirst - 11l/100kms around town and struggles to get 8 on the motorway - but i can live with that. As you can see in photo, mu old stilo is still going, after 6 years. im not getting rid of it yet.
Its the 180bhp 2.0T with the spaceball. It can shift, but doesnt really like to be in a hurry.
Sorry to tempt you more but he dropped the price "not sure if you seen that"
This could be a real beauty of a Banger
I have too many Saabs already but this does look like it's ticking all the boxes. If you got that for €1,600 with the B205 engine at 110,000Km that's a genuine bargain.
150hp standard and a simple ECU map to bring it to 220hp 360nm. Factor in maybe a new clutch or new Coils after and you have a decent car for years.
Still plenty of parts floating around, and the are more reliable than people make out.
I'm seriously tempted myself. Someone please go look at this and report back.
Was talk here about a higher price limit so ill link this. The estate accord i linked sold quick so heres a nice kitted one just gone up
Would like a euro r one of these, but a type s is a nice smaller brother
2009 mazda 3 diesel

I really wanted one, was happy to look past the issues with the head gasket but the gearbox spoiled the mix really. They look great to me, inside and out but that gearbox didn't do it for me. It's a 5 speed really, the 6th gear will stall the car if engaged before 80mph.
Not yet, part of the reason I'm on here asking stupid questions. My knowledge of cars broadly extends to how they look and how broke an old BMW can make you. I was planning to start test driving after Xmas bonus was in my pocket, but maybe this one might not be worth the hassle based on feedback.
Have you driven one?
The gearbox is stupid with an unusable 6th gear.
As regards reliability, it's a soon to be 16 years old diesel, even the newest will be 12 years old.......I'd just find the best one you can that been maintained by the previous owner and get it checked out.
I have an eye on a few 08/09 models, rather than that specific 06 one
No, those diesel engined Lexus are not a very reliable car. That 2.2d engine has many well documented problems.
