Shark cordless vac 225 on Currys with discount code SKA10IE at checkout
Have it a few days and it's a massive step up from a generic cordless
How does this compare to the equivalent Dyson?
I've no carpet only hardwood and tile in my house
I did say that, but the staff member said the code was much shorter than normal and seemed to be an online only code. He did try the code, but the till rejected it. It's grand, happy to get the discounted price as we needed a new cordless anyway, and we'd four or five one4all card to use us too.
They didn't accept the code in liffey valley for me either but happy with the price.
Hoover are rubbish. Dyson are way way way overpriced.
Freestanding, but folds over, so very sturdy when not in use.
Hi, I'm interested in this, but one of the reviews I've seen describes it as "a little unwieldy to manoeuvre" and "heavy". I'd be interested to hear the opinions of those of you that have this particular model. Is the weight an issue at all ? (especially for someone with a dodgy back).
The weight is because the motor is at the top, it's honestly just a matter of getting used to it. Feels odd at first but then feels normal. Shouldn't be a problem for someone with a bad back.
Can be got up the north for click and collect and discount code is valid---- Although its working out around the same price £206 stgs
tis certainly heavier then I anticipated, but I reckon almost half of that is the motorised head unit - id try and find a demo unit and see what you think. A big bonus of the head unit is that it does the work - so you don’t need to ‘scrub’ the floor/carpet, which I found I used to do with our old corded dyson - and that used to kill my back
as an aside, there is a hook to hang it on a wall, which I reckon maybe more convenient to just grab for a quick spill (a la a dyson), but I don’t see any accessory from shark to hang it. But I see some entrepreneurial type is doing 3d printed brackets online - I might look into it
another aside, the battery can be removed and charged outside the unit - which I’ve found pretty handy - but maybe mark against the convienence vs a dyson that charges while hung up(?)
Swings and roundabouts..!
Which Dyson is this one's main rival? V10 v11?
None. Dysons are overpriced crap. Binned a Dyson (recycled it) but love my Shark
All relative, have a plug in and hand held Dyson for three years, both still going strong and wouldn't trade them for anything.
I have a cordless Dyson for 3 years now, absolute brilliant suction still. Cannot fault it.
Saying Dyson are overpriced crap is simply ridiculous tbf.
I don't really get the hate directed at Dyson either. I have a cordless one and I love it. I bought one for my parents too, as did my missus for hers. All Dysons still going strong a few years later. Its all relative I suppose. I have read wonderful things about Shark too. A great deal for those that manage to get it.
Dysons are superb machines. I have had the V6 for almost 5 years, replaced the battery, regularly clean/change the filters and maintain the floorheads. I think if you do this, it should last a long long time. That being said, I went for this shark deal in Curry's and the manager came out and honoured the online deal and took 10% off. No questions at all. I did call customer support, and they said if the store gives out saying they cannot apply the deal, call the support whilst in store and they will get the 10% off for you. Thanks OP, very happy with this as I have read super reviews.
Good to know that in future. Would have preferred to collect as it's only down the road.
Dysons are very good, but utterly ridiculously overpriced and customer service is poor from my own experience.
I still have a Dyson in the office, but the shark is miles ahead in terms of ease of use.
Bought one today. Currys applied the voucher at checkout. Fantastic little machine with a sluggish battery. I love it.
Anybody tried car kit with this or the accessories with it is good enough for car detailing too?
Do the same with my v6... Can't bin it yet as its still one of the better models. May i ask where you got your battery from and mine is fading badly. And was it expensive?
Hi. What time are Currys closing today/ New year Saturday.
Sure, I got it on eBay uk but before Brexit. So it's a different story now. I think I paid about 30e including delivery. I will get the next one on AliExpress for sure, might take a while to get though so I'd say order as soon as you can. I'd probably go for this one :

No idea, ring them, the time varies today. The best bet is reserve it online and ask them to apply the discount voucher when you get to collect it. Cheers
Thanks. Made it in and got it. Thanks OP and all!
Anyone?
Glad to hear that . All the best
I got one off amazon and found it rubbish compared to the original, so I sent it back and ordered an original from the Dyson website.
The v6 I bought was a referb back on Nov 2017 for £140 and its still going strong.
How much of a discount does that code give, it's currently 250 euro at that link but I can't see anywhere to enter the code.. Thanks
Nevermind, I see it's for the delivery option only and you can't select the delivery option anymore

It is difficult to directly compare different companies models, but I’d say the features of the Shark make it more like the v11
BTW there is a YouTuber called Vacuum Wars, who compares all the different Vacuums and these Sharks get a very good review, one of the best.
